I have offered him one of my three, so I can go get the Boxer.......LOL!

I think he wants one close to home.....

One of mine even has all the smog equipment mounted, it probably pass with a little work.....LOL!

    1976 #20405 Red/Black
    1977 #22127 Yellow/Black/Boxer trim
    1977 #22641 Blue/Cream/Boxer trim

He either cannot find the car or cannot pay the right money, IMO.

Stick CHic found a 308GTB in Rosso Dino, incredibly rare color....dunno who got that car..

These cars are out there, but not common anymore and eBay won;t have them.
    Let me know.......

Even if eBay has 'em....you don't want 'em.

PM sent. I know of a well maintained 77 red/tan GTB coming available soon.

you should take a pic of the three of them together, i think that would be great!

on topic, very few GTB's rom 76-77 are going to be able to meet California's emissions laws.

WOW. What does that mean, you can't drive the old classics anymore????

That would be a real shame if thats the case.

Our CA smog laws are ridiculous. Any 1975 or later car has to be tested, and carb'ed Ferraris are reportedly a pain to get through the tests.

The real solution is to leave California.

Ges thats sad to hear Jon. I have heard rumours that Austalia with signing the Kyoto agreement are going to impose some new European standard. Hopefully its not as bad as your system.

That would really p*** me off if I couldn't drive having just spent a few years restoring it.

I wonder what those laws in CA will do to values of historic cars????

They definately devalue them unless they are used on the Track only, it's not that bad as I had to Pass Smog here in the beginning of ownership, but in CA you have to have all equipment in place and functioning, it definately increases the cost of operating the car...

My three cars have never been together, carreaper.

Katrina disaster seperated them, then Valeria and I's "divorce" scattered them to the winds.....maybe someday...

That's actually why I was thinking of selling all three into the Boxer512, at least it'd all be in one spot! LOL!

The cars are symbolic (and will pass on to) of my three children...........they have never been together either, except for all too brief visits...

So I have really paid a steep fee for misjudgements....Valeria had offered to put a 3 car garage in, MAN, I was glad not to be chipping that slab up! LOL!

Amanda will turn 18 in three years and I'll regain 35% of my income, I'll get it all together then.

It was my dream we'd all be togehter showing the cars, but it was once pointed out that this was only MY dream.....

While it may seem that I've been particularly "picky," I've actually made a few trips across country to see a few cars, only to be disappointed.....

Problems with rust, no service record on presumably low-mile cars with strange engine noises, horrible paint jobs, and interior issues, all the while asking for
crazy money. Unfortunately, non of the vehicles that I’ve looked at were represented well.

So that said, after traveling, I’d like to try to stay local if possible. But if a car presented it self that was a low mileage, all paperwork, excellent (non restored), condition example, I’d think twice about not wanting to take another trip.

I don’t mind spending the money and the amount I would be willing to pay would pay be commensurate on condition.

The search for he right car has been a great challenge.

I appreciate all that replied, and I hope that my continued search hasn’t offended anyone that I was in previous discussions with.

    Thanks guys,

    Chris.

No offense at all, as all mine are drivers anyway...

You need to just keep your finger on the trigger until that sleeper comes out of a collection or somebody dies......

    Then GET ON IT!!!

Or seriously I'll let one or two of mine go, after I look at this Boxer and get my financing in place...

Hey Bubba, Vern here, that is why I parted with 22127 had 3 cars it was easier in my mind to support one instead of 3 (GT4, GTB and Pantera)thats when I bought the 348SS. The 512 idea is a good one good luck.

I have a 76' 308GTB that I am considering selling. I know you want low mileage, however, mine has 66k miles, but very, very clean! It has always been a Southern California car and I have complete history down to the original window sticker. Some features: original rosso red paint, black interior, tubi exhaust and electronic distributors. Starts immediateley on a cold crank. Cavallino magazine has the value of these cars up the past few issues, ranging from $35k to $55k.

I am planning on placing it on consignment with Fantasy Junction who happens to be a reputable consigner here in the bay area to avoid the hassle of non-serious buyers, waste of time and low ballers who know nothing about these cars. Let me know and we can work something out.

relax; if it's really european standard it won't be as bad as the Californian system. European environment standards mainly aim at the future emissions of new mass production cars.
And not eliminating a few, rare and rarely driven classic cars.

    Best Regards from Germany

or till someone gets divorced and has to get rid of some fortune quickly before he gets the total bill from the wife's lawyer. Like in my case :) Car was a bargain therefore.
It has something to do with our divorce laws.

    Best Regards from Germany

    Thanks Guys, Chris.

Man, make me an offer, I need a $$$ downstroke on a Boxer I have found!

Cleanest one running is #20405 1976 Red/Black, come see it.....

#22641 1977 Blue/cream is in for brakes and clutch after rolling in from Portland OR...

#22127 1977 Yellow/black will be the last to go, as that matches my Mom's address!

For a newbie the advice would be that you should post in FerrariAds. But you are no newbie and already subscribed.

So what BB did you find that is so tempting? 365 or 512?

    Jeff
