Should we have a racing section for people that don't care about being spoiled, and have watched the races, and one that has no spoilers in them? Seriously, I find it hard to come up with thread titles that present the subject to be discussed in a concise manner without someone running into the thread saying it's a spoiler.
Half, more of the threads that were created concerning the previous race could be eliminated, if we could use more concise titles. We are forced to have titles like " Spoiler! Rosberg"
And "Spoiler! What could Nico have done?"
Spoiler! What could have happened differently"
Spoiler! Something a driver said because of what happened in the race".
All of these could be about the same subject, but we can't let other people know that, for fear of spoiling it for them.
Yet, these threads get created, because others don't know that the topic they want to discuss is already being discussed under a different title.

Perhaps there is a way to indicate whether or not you have watched the race and then hide all the threads with spoilers.

If I want to watch a delayed telecast there's a lot of places I avoid.
Don't go to F1.com and want spoiler titles on all their news items.

Spoiler titles don't work. The whole section has to be avoided.
    Why?
Because todays post in last weeks thread is likely to have reference to a driver's outcome in the last race.
90% of threads here have some amount of Hami/Massa/Fred sux content with what happened latest mentioned. Such meanderings are the stuff of communication.
Start a Phil Hill thread and in two pages it'll have Hammi/Massa/Fred comparisons posted.

Forget trying to edit the net, guys.

Instead of making this section friendly to 3 people that didn't watch the race LIVE(and annoying everyone that put the effort to watch it live), how about remove the Last post, in the index much like the subscribed sections say PRIVATE and have a pop up that you have to agree to, that entering this section, you will have threads that might be spoilers.

It would certainly make the moderators life 1000000x easier.

It seems this section is getting moderated to appease a handful of people then the majority.

You make a valid point. The problem is that many people just do not read previously posted threads, so we end up having duplicates, or nearly duplicates. They think they are posting something new. It would be nice if the title of the thread was accurate and concise. If you are going to post a thread, do not expect everyone to be a mind reader. Use your brain and say it straight in the title. You can come up with a good title without giving away the results of qualifying or a race. If you can't don't post the thread.

The fact that you would put a SPOILER notice in your thread means you already know the results. So read every previous thread before you post your own, its not hard.

Just use your brains for once. I think its possible. I know I make mistakes sometimes, but I immediately notify a Mod to combine my thread with the original.

Right now we have a few Hamilton after the Canadian GP quote threads. Why? The first one should be the only one.

But then this thread is a duplicate of an already posted thread about SPOILERS. This should have been a post to that thread, not a new one. So SA, you kind of defeated your own intent.

I personally think that we should do a trial run next race.
Everyone just forgets about the spoiler tags for once and posts like it is a regular forum, where people don't mind being up to date.
We will warn people in advance of the race weekend, about not having spoiler tags, and not worrying about spoiling it for anyone.
If anyone complains about being spoiled when they were warned, well, tough.
    Who's with me?

Not me. I think the SPOILER tags are necessary as long as most of you can't come up with a reasonable title. The problem is you need to read the other threads before you post a new one that could be a spoiler.

IMO any title that says "Nico Spoiler" or anything like that is a half spoiler anyway. If you Tivo the race you're already gonna be waiting for something to happen. I think we should do away with this spoiler rule. If people don't want the race to be spoiled for them, they should come on this forum. I don't go to any WRC sites until I've watched my rally torrents. It's common sense.

How about for a certain preset amount of days after a race, no titles show up at all for the "racing" section on the main page. Enter the racing section at your own risk at that point!
Better yet, how about a new way to sign in for just Silver and Rossa members. One disables titles appearing in Racing on the main page??

The problem is that you don't even HAVE to come into the R&T section to see a spoiler....if it's the most recent topic posted too it'll show the thread title on the main page. And then it DOES get spoiled even if someone is avoiding R&T

Same with 'spoiler' threads discussing this very topic. Shouldn't this be knocked around in 'Sticky: Don't give away racing results in thread titles!'?

Spoilers are NOT NEEDED! If you cant watch the race live then why come on here to discuss the race? Its very simple but some always have to make a big deal about everything.
Its sort of like the guy who dosnt want to get his wife pregnant but complains about wearing condoms :)

I think it is nice to still be able to come on Ferrari Chat and discuss other topics without seeing race results. I think the "spoiler" alert in the subject line works better than just telling people to avoid the racing forum because many people (including I) do not read the forum by going into specific forums. We use the quick link to "new posts" and then scroll down and read any of the new ones we are interested in. This is a combination of posts in all the different forums.

    Ha ha!

    On topic.
Call it an air-dam and be done with it.
