Are you complaining about the number of "spoilers" as too many, or that some threads should be better labeled as spoilers. Its not clear what you mean.

I think spoiler in the heading is necessary.

    Thanks

Why do you have to spoil our discussions, just because you chose not to watch the race? How about you just not come to this section then?

He has not seen the race, cause DirecTV, makes you pay a billion dollars a month for Fox. He just like me, have to wait till tomorrow to watch the replay on Speed.

I missed the live airing of the race on Sunday, didn't tape/tivo it, and still managed to watch it by Sunday evening.

You guys that haven't seen race come onto the "Racing & Tracking" forum and expect it to be spoiler free? What the heck do you expect all the threads on the first page to be about? The latest midgets cup whatever dirt track race? Common sense. Watch the race first then come onto the forums.

IF you havnt seen the race yet then whey in the hell would you come on the racing section? I think this spoiler thing should be thrown out the window. 1 member recently got a 3 day ban for posting without the spoiler. Thats absurd. If you cant watch the race live then too bad!

I entirely agree with you; this spoiler protocol is absolutely ridiculous.

If people can't watch the race, JUST TOO BAD !! Why are they the same people who sneak on this forum trying to get info about it?

this spoiler thing is too silly. some adults are acting like some spoiled kids.

I watch motogp and I know not to visit racing website before watching the races via tape delayed on Speed.

If you could last 2-3 days without knowing what happened, you can't be much of a fan in the first place. IMHO

Well, this is what I was saying on Sunday. It's one thing to use discretion for a couple hours when the races are run in the wee hours. But 2 days later?! I'm sorry, but if you're sitting around not wanting to find out the results, then it's up to YOU to avoid visiting places that will discuss and divulge the details. The purpose of a chat site like this is to provide a meeting place for enthusiasts from around the world to come together and share their thoughts, experiences, etc. And post-race discussions are a part of that. If you can't see a race, and choose to wait--6 hours, 1 day, a week, WHATEVER--then it's YOUR responsibility to avoid the results. It's completely ridiculous to expect 99% of the racing fans to sit around and NOT discuss what they just watched so the remaining 1% can read the racing forum on FChat for 3 days without the results being "spoiled". Question: Did your local newspaper run your letter complaining to them about printing the race results in Monday's sports section without the warning banner SPOILER ALERT!!! ??? Did your neighbor apologize for wearing his BMW F1 hat on Sunday evening?

How about this--Let's just have Rob post a SPOILER ALERT banner across the top of FerrariChat every Sunday morning.

Sorry dude. I'm a big spoiler proponent, but if you're still missing the action by Tuesday it's your own problem.

    I didn't watch the race on TV and I don't have an issue about spoilers, but I was at the track to see it live ( ;

    A billion dollars a month?

If you were a true racing fan you would pay it or get cable. ;)

Spoiler warnings in the title is a good practice. Even if you don't go to the R&T forum, the latest title appears on the first page of Fchat. That's almost impossibe to avoid. So eliminating the results in the title is a good practice as it is almost impossible to avoid. "Spoiler" lets you know not to accidently go into that thread. It's almost fool proof, which for McClaren fans is a must!

You could be writing about a race that happened 7 years ago and there is still no reason you need to put "Shumi wins Monaco!!!" in the title.
    Just write "Monaco 2001, Spoiler".
    What is the big deal?
I watch the races before I come here but I have no need to ruin it for other people, and it is the rule.

First of all, why don't you pony up and support FChat??? Secondly, who's controlling you to come here in the first place knowing that a race just took place? Don't complain . . apparently, you must live with blinders firmly attached if you wait on sporting events until several days after their completion!

Wish I thought of this straight forward answer. You are correct QVB, what is the big deal?

The "spoiler" in the title works, has for a long time, it just takes a little brain power for some of you to pay attention and just avoid that topic. Now I can see that the spoiler tag could be eliminated say after 3-4 days, but otherwise, leave the policy alone. I think the MODS do their best to combine duplicate threads, but it is up to the poster to read before they post a new thread.

Knowing the result beforehand, never spoiled my pleasure in watching later a recorded GP, that I couldn't see 'live' at the time.

There is a difference between watching a race and knowing the result.
Knowing the score never spoiled my interest in watching the actions.

I really don't understand what the 'fuss' is about.

As for F1, if I knew the outcome I would only watch highlights of the race and would definitely watch the post-race interviews. ;)

Perhaps the complaint is about so many spoiler threads instead of just one for the Canadian race. He's probably wondering what all the fuss is about...ha.

Nice attempt at a flame again, Carol, but as usually totally off the mark.

Perhaps you were not aware that Speed was rebroadcasting the race this week, Wednesday.

Perhaps you are unable to read English? After all, there is a sticky up top and there has been for years stating that one is NOT to put spoilers in thread titles? Perhaps you haven't seen it despite the eleventy threads you've participated in to tell us all how spoilers are actually OK despite explicitly not being OK?

Perhaps you feel that YOUR view on the rules is the only one that matters? That your desire to have spoilers in thread titles trumps the rules of the site and trumps the collectively agreed upon rules of the other users?

And nice to see you trotting out the "why are you even here" argument. It's more played out than the rest of your boorish arguments. How about this... how about you let the owner of the site decide who can and can't be here, mmkay?

P.S. I'll go hide in fear now of the criminal repercussions of flaming online that you warned me of before.

P.P.S. Haven't heard a daily summary of races you're attending or what traveling you have done in the last few days - have been unable to sleep without these details. Please provide ASAP!
