    Assuming that the V8's are the same price as the 430 and the V12's are the same price as the 599, which type of Ferrari do you prefer?

    I'd prefer a nice front V12-like the 550/575 :) or the 456. F1 or auto trans for me. If I had to settle for a mid engine v8 though I wouldn't complain :)

    A smaller, lighter, mid-engined V8, with three pedals and no electronic nannies. If the Formula One pros can sustain those speeds without traction control, we should be able to manage.

    We all have other cars to carry golf clubs, groceries, plywood, etc. Ferrari has a licence to make extreme cars, and I wish they would resume doing so.

    Who cares about the construction? What I want is something that handles well, has good acceleration, looks good, and had decent top speed. Since I'm not an engineer, I'm not going to get involved in the specific design parameters, since the technology keeps changing. I am concerned that it look good, corner great, stop great, and accelerate well.

    Lastly, I'm concerned that it be reliable. Most Ferraris, pre-355 had distinct reliability problems. From the 355 on, you could use them as a daily driver, and that's a good thing.

    A rear-midengined lightweight with a small V-12 would be even more extreme.

    A front-midengined lightweight with a small V-12 or V-8, in the vein of the 250 SWB or 275 GTB, would be nice, and so would a 550-sized GT made with 599 engineering.

    And re-hire the guys who made Pininfarina revered and respected.

    ...The current crop of overstylized road hogs makes the exercise quite simple.

    My preference would be V12, front engine, four usable seats, conventional stick shift and clutch.

    My car choice (widebody Pantera) shows my addiction to mid engine cars.

    I would love any mid engine, manual shift Ferrari - regardless of the number of cylinders.

    I have owned both and prefer the 12 due to the seamless torque across the rpm range. I also feel that the quality of finish of the 12's is superior to that of the 8's.

    Definitely a mid-engined normally aspirated V12, and I mean a true mid-engined and not the "play-on-words" front-mid-engined crap. Also, I agree with an earlier post that stated, "Pedals and not Paddles!"

    I agree..... Who needs their Ferrari to do everything or to be driven every day and everywhere? It's a joke.






    Those are pretty vague desires. I think all current models do those things to some extent, but then so do many, many other cars...
