With help from many 308 owners I have compiled this list of 308 assembly sequence numbers. http://koti.welho.com/kpietil4/308.htm I would like to add more numbers. Please report: - Full VIN code (5-digit chassis number if a pre-1980 car) - Date of manufacture if a US/LHD as stamped on door jamb plate - Assembly sequence number, maybe easiest to locate as stamped on coil bracket on left side of engine compartment - at least on early cars* - Engine number as stamped on engine block. It is located in the right side of engine between the vee. Mick; our cars are close. My '80 carb GTB has assembly no. 1310 and VIN #34379. ( already in Kare's list ). I still don't understand the meaning and purpose of the assembly no. Official numbers say, that around 2800 carb GTB have been built between 1975 and 1980. But why has my car - according to Ferrari the fourth last built carb GTB - such a low assembly no. ? The only sense, which comes to my mind, is, that they have separated Euro and US cars. Can someone confirm this ? Best Regards from Germany Martin
Hello Kare, Just reading your request, if still interested,mine is registered March 1977 Fibreglass 308 GTB, Chassis/Engine F106AB20267. It also has the number 118 on the bracket that supports the oil cooler.Colour is Giallo Fly with black interior. Regards,Tom.

I just purchased...one year ago...a 84 308 GTB. Vin Number ZFFLA12S000051691. I am the second owner and the car was imported by Peter Lavanos in 1984 to Connecticut. It has no cats and Euro bumpers and totally original from the paint down to the valve stems caps. It has 47,000 KM.
