The 3 latest cars I have in my register are: #5026 #5889 (odd no. but no Spyder!) #6885 (odd no. but no Spyder!) But this doesn`t mean that this are in fact the last Ghiblis build. Lates photo I have is this one of #115.49.2856, taken in 1980 (still with Italian registration in the US). Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep - the car was sold in 1978 to the US. It always wonders me how US-owners could drive around with foreign plates other than custom plates (like the "EE"-plates from Italy)!. Ciao! Walter
The blue car is #115.014 in 1984 (delivered new and still in FRance) and the yellow car is #115.018 (new to owner in Milano, Italy - in 1997 the car was in Japan). Both cars have the rare knock-off-wheels fitted. But I have in my register also #115.002(the Turin-Show-car, lost today!) and #115.010 (new to France, auctioned in 1989 in Paris). Ciao! Thanks Walter that high VIN numbers are strange do you know why some cars got them? We had a Mexico in Sweden with #5016
...huh....so, thats ART???? I believe the name of this masterpiece (..or "Maserpiece"??) is "Ghibli with Chewing Gum"!!! Hope, that the dope was good the "artist" smoke otherwise...!!! Ciao! Walter
So how accurate is this one guys? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Maserati-Ghibli-67-GHIBLI-Yellow-Black-1-of-only-1149-Produced_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6313QQihZ021QQitemZ310058759624QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Bob S.
The car is claimed as a `67-version. So its a 4.7 and clearly shows the toggle-switches on the dash. Therefore I doubt that VIN. Perhaps the dealer -and most of them have no clue about any Maserati!!- made a typo here! Ciao! Walter
The yellow Ghibli on eBay has a few odd things. The engine appears to be a late series type with the single spark plug hole. The rectangular air filter was used on the later Ghibli (mostly the SS) and this particular filter does not seem to have come out a Ghibli; perhaps an early QP3. Notice where the bodywork was cut behind the air filter to accomodate it. I would be surprised if this was its original engine. Car does look good.
Here's an interesting one and the first I've seen. Anyone know anything about it? go to the end of the page http://www.maserati-alfieri.co.uk/alfieri06.htm then more here: http://www.mikeabbasclassiccars.co.uk/ Bob S.
Walter, The blue car is wonderful. Do you have photos of a metallic blue Ghibli with white interior? That must look stunning.
We had one in Sweden but now its exported. I dont have a photo of the car but the VINs 1950 Walter.Exported in January 2004 imported Mars 1976 and at one time an owner considered to put a corvette motor in it.
This is #115.49.1950. The car was for sale some years ago. Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login
This photo is taken in Stockholm Sweden. Isnt that right Walter? Who knows where it is today? 1983 it was owned by Motor and El invest in Djursholm Sweden. 1989 it was owned by Mr Nordell in Stockholm. He bought it in Mars 1984.
Yep - photo was taken in Sweden when owned by Leif Persson. He sold it in Dec. 2003 to Klaus Liesegang from Germany. Ciao! Walter
In EU: project cars: Euro 20-25,000 average cars: Euro 45-65,000 good cars: Euro 70-90,000 concours: Euro 95-110,000 Ciao! Walter
It looks like a number of modern updates for racing have been done. I wonder if it was originally setup back then and has been updated or if this is a later conversion and probably not eligible for vintage racing? It's at least interesting no?
