To try to avoid some conflict, those of us who want to view the race in its purity on the tape delay, I suggest the following: Don't look at this section prior to the race. That way, everyone keeps their cool about spoilers. And if you get frustrated about spoilers, then just don't look.

Just trying to minimize the arguments that will surely follow.

A better piece of advice would be for folks to use a little common sense when titling a new thread.

Why? So the rest who have seen the race cant discuss it right after?

And as usual -- spoiler titles are against the rules in this section, and will get you a temp ban. Threads in here show up on the main page and the search results.

How does a title that does not give away results prevent you from talking about the race right after it happens?

If one wants to discuss the race or something about the race then how would they go about titleing it? You know the answer is very very simple. If you dont want to know the results then dont come onto the site. Its sort of like the woman who complains that she dosnt want to see men at the urinals but insists on walking by the entrance and looking in. :) Ill give you the results of the race now...."Massa leads a Ferrari 1-2 in the French GP"

Sorry this just goes to show how little you care about your fellow F-chatters. It seems your true colors are showing through.

The answer is very very simple the rules at the top of the section say no spoilers so go about titleing it appropriately and discuss the race as much as you like without ruining it for others.

Sidenote: Do you really have to disagree with everything Ted posts just because it's Ted that posts it?

Ultimately some in here have to get a life. If you have nothing else to do on a Sunday but spend it on here while getting your panties in a bunch worrying that you might see the results and then 2 hours watching a rerun then you have a problem. I watch the race live one way or the other and then take the F-car for a spirited ride and then continue to enjoy the rest of the day with the Family and a fine bottle of wine....Try it you might like it :)

None of us want to spoil the race for a fellow chatter.....but, anything out of the ordinary that happens gets threads started. And year-after-year I have seen threads give away results by accident .......when not trying or intending to.

Example... "Wow that Fire in the pits ...and they're banning LH for setting the two pits in front of him on fire" (doesn't even need to be that long of complicated...but its always some detail that gives away too much)

Its usually something way-off-base... and it accidentally gives something away,.. and then the crying on F-chat begins.

STAY OFF F-CHAT OR ITS YOUR OWN FAULT IF ANYTHING INTERESTING HAPPENS IN A F1 RACE (not that it happens very often). But it will get posted here, and you might be able to figure out the rest of the race from a simple detail.

We have a few guys on here that admit that they only watch the 1st two laps, and the last 2 laps, because not much happens in-between. So its logical, that one small tip, could give away the entire weak plot. THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE TO STAY OFF F-CHAT BEFORE YOU WATCH THE RACE

Why would anyone go online to a Ferrari site before seeing the race? Its like going to soccer.com before watching the soccer game or to nba.com before seeing the nba finals. Ridiculous. If you really dont want to know, dont go to a website of the very subject matter you are trying to avoid. Dont blame others for your own actions.

Because we use this site to communicate with local fellow FChatters when planning live F1 race watching gatherings. And before such a gathering, we might open the main page of FerrariChat in order to log into the thread that contains directions, start times, etc just prior to the event.

Is there an alternative to the Fox broadcast in the U.S. ? An internet feed perhaps?
    Thanks,

This is half the problem, we do not need a thread for every thing that happens. We have a GP thread every race that is for race discussion. I really cant grasp why we need a thread for every single little thing that happens. Do people really have a need to be a thread starter???

    Mark

PS, I watch every race live as well and somehow find a way not to ruin it for others....it's not difficult.

The problem with one consolidated race thread is that it makes discussing any one topic difficult. Kind of like why FChat has so many sub-forums. People want to discuss different subjects, and they should have free reign to start their own threads accordingly. It's when multiple threads get started on the same issue that overkill becomes the problem. Chat sites are market-driven: members are free to start threads on whatever they wish. Whether others find the topic interesting enough to discuss is what will decide the life of the thread. Personally, I can't stand cop/forensic/legal television drama shows. But based on the frequency they're aired, I'm obviously in the minority with that sentiment and accept it.

I think you've missed the point. Some here have VERY busy lives and aren't able to watch the race on race day or log into F-chat. Some may be logging on Monday and even if they don't log on to the Racing section the thread title is still visible on the main page if it's the last one updated. As I said in the post above you show no respect for your other F-Chatters and even go to belittle them if the choose to log on during race day. As I said before you've shown your true colors.

So now we get the "speed tv news feed" here to make sure spoilers are posted before fox runs the race?

Another corporate brain rash from the trash-tv group.

    Exactly.

Why ban someone or dump on them for sharing thoughts on the race with fellow Ferrari owners and race fans???

Why protect the guy who lacks the common sense to not look at threads in the racing section on race day if he hasn't seen the race yet?
