Barry 308 GTB in another threat mentioned the itrip. This needs to be talked about more. My car has the original Blaupunkt radio and the antena is not working so I was not getting any radion. I found one tape from 1985 and was listing to that a my sole source of music. I never like removing an original radio, but I know from owning Corvettes that people spend big bucks to buy replacement radios that look stock that have CD changers in the trunk or that have MP3 jack. After reading a thread here I bought an I-trip ($40 bucks at Best Buy). This plugs into the end of you I-pod and it transmits a radio signal to an empty radio station on your stock radio. I never even set it up, somehow it set itself. My I-pod has every song that I own on it and it now transmits through the stock radio, perfectly. It is the perfect product for any antique car with a stock radio. Finally, go to I-Pod store and buy a refurbished I-pod, they are cheap. I know you guys have computers. The I-pod is the easiest thing in the world. With all this being said I just spent a bunch of money on Hyper-Flow and inserts for my exhaust tips, so I probably will be listening to my exhaust and not my radio. Anyways, this was so helpful and it keeps the cars stock, so I thought it deserved a thread of its own.

Every radio in a US 308 was/is aftermarket. These cars came w/ 2 spreakers, antenna and a vinyl covered plate over the radio area

For clarification, this is true from what I've been able to learn. However, many (if not most) dealers installed a Blaupunkt radio prior to purchase.

I picked up a couple Digisettes which you upload your songs into via usb, charge up the battery, and slip it into the cassette slot of your radio. They even have a microphone and can record memos, or use it shirt-pocket portable using a headphone jack. When the car radio is turned off, they sense it and also turn off, resuming later where you stopped. While it's internal memory capacity sucks, it does have a MMC slot for expansion to several Gigs and the feature list is unequalled . They may be tough to find now, but couple years ago they were only $20 on eBay.

    Jon,

I went all the way back to the original thread to see if I said something stupid. Call me irresponsible, if you wish, but it was just one of those things.
