Hey Shemm, 355 posted this a while back so I figure that's where we'll meet. Sunset Grill at Vaughan Mills at 10 am. Leave at 10:30 to meet up with Brett at 11 up at 400 and 9. Where's the Sunset Grill. Vaughan Mills is huge!
Don't know where sunset grill is - guess will drive around in circles until I hear a tubi or see a group of cars. Beautiful morning - up early to wash the car. See you boys soon! Ilio
Quick weather report from Waterloo..It rained for about 3 minutes. A single gray cloud, ans now I see blue and scattered white clouds on the horizon. I'm fueled up and leaving for the Sunset Grill in about a half hour. See you there...
damn you all I think i this is the third drive I haven't been able to make it on! but seriously guy's be safe and have fun! and watch out for those speedtraps! and yes guy's we know your car goes fast no need to show off!
Ferrari qualified 1-2! Lewis qualified 3rd (but loses 10 spots for driving like my wife!) I'm leaving for the run shortly.
Why would you post that here?! We have spoiler threads for a reason! Thanks for killing qualifying for me.
Here are a few shots I took today on the drive. The weather was perfect and the roads were great, thanks Bret and nice shop too! It was nice to meet some people from the site and wind the cars out together. Great drive....I was a little worried about the weather in the beginning but it turned out to be a beautiful day! It was nice to put some faces to names. Big thanks to Brett! Marco
Great pics. Had lots of fun. My wife enjoyed it too which is a bonus. Thanks to Brett, Brian and the ladies (Veronica and Laura ) for getting everything together.........Awsome!!!! Any other pics.....please post them. Frank
Big thanks to Brett for an awesome day and amazing route. Also great shop (I'd love to watch the next F1 race in your mezzanine!) Sorry I had to leave early, but I had to get back home for visitors. Please organize another run soon!
as everyone has already said.. Huge thanks go out to Brett and everyone who helped organize this amazing event... I had a ton of fun, meeting new people, see old ones and putting screen names to faces. My pics should be up tomorrow or monday as I have to wait for the silver subscription to go through
Brett - Thanks again for organizing and hosting this great day of driving. The turnout was spectacular, and I'm glad so many folks decided to come out under some clouds. The weather definitely worked out for us! So, when are we doing this again??? Here's some of my pix - the rest, and hi-res versions of these can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ph-stop Cheers, Mark Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
BRETT - Gotta say you are a first class person and super host! Love the shop - the condition, equipment, and your commitment to fair pricing and high level of customer service is rare in this mark - too many prima donnas associated with repairing Ferraris! You can't teach passion - best of luck with the business - after what we all saw - the word of mouth will go a long way. Pass on my thanks to your lovely wife! - my daughter had a great time. She really knows how to push that 400! So if we bring our cars in, do we get access to the loft lounge, fire pit and pool?? - can see a few divorces in the making LOL! The whole drive was filmed by the OLN network - we will be featured in February on an episode of HOT PIPES............Hollywood - here we come!! Here are some poor snapshots - was a great day - I couldn't believe we had views like that so close to home - wish I could have taken some pictures while driving. Anyone know how I can add comments to the pictures?? Thanks again! BTW - does anyone know where/when the "Hot Pipes" show they were shooting for will be on? I'm sure they got some great footage and interviews. Tony - you have his contact info right?
Nice shots guys keep them coming. Big thanks to Brett for putting everything together and welcoming us to his shop and home. It's too bad some of you missed the BBQ, fantastic!! Thanks again to all. Rob Shemmer
Airing in February 2009 on the OLN network (Bell channel 411, I think Rogers channel 57?) Eshel scared the heck out of the Hot Pipes girl with a high speed ride in the Twin Turbo - see stepped out of that Porsche white as a ghost! Image Unavailable, Please Login
i had a blast guys. sorry that things weren't perfectly organized but i know what to do a little different next time...maybe again in early August ? THANKS to all of you that spared a day of your time to join me. i really appreciate it. what a great group. 15 beautiful Ferrari's but i was also very, very impressed by the Porsches, the GT40, the NSX, the Lancia...it was a well rounded turnout. thanks again...until next time... i'll start working on the next route later today. : ) brett p.s. please feel free to add any constructive critisism on how we can make the next drive better...really, it's all good if it helps us make it better.
Brett - someone mentioned to me yesterday that they used walkie-talkies on a drive so that the front/middle/back folks can stay in sync with any route changes or problems. I have a few I could bring next time if we want to use them. I'm amazed you were able to keep this long parade together! And thanks again for pre-arranging to have the OPP leave us alone Mark
here are some teaser pics until tomorrow when i have time to upload them all Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Brett, Veronica, and Mike. I really enjoyed meeting the wonderful people that own these wonderful cars. Thank you for inviting me to bring my Lancia Thema 8.32 ( known in Europe as the Lancia Ferrari) along for the drive with her better looking cousins. I am sure no one attending expected to have a sedan along for the run, but thank you all for your tolerance. Mike and Brett will be servicing this car and are going thru the learning curve with me as far as parts sources and the subtle differences that Ferrari had to make to the regular 308 32 valve in order for it to fit into the Lancia Thema. I appreciate them taking on this challenge. Here is a little corporate video on the Thema 8.32 that shows some interesting scenes of the Ferrari block coming out of the casting and during assembly etc. The engine was made in Marenello until 1990 when Ferrari had contracted with Ducati to assemble the remaining orders. The car ceased production when Ferrari pulled the plug on 90 degree crank engines after approx 3500 were made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrEhK_MRmPs Cheers Paul
