    Guys,

I am on the fence and within the next 1-2 months I am trading in my Lotus on a Gallardo or 360.. I would have done it by now but poor lotus had some engine issues which is putting me in a situation where I have time to make a more appropriate decision..

What would you guys choose? any why?

would you mind going into some details as to why you want to trade up so soon?

Im curious as well. And what type of Gallardos are we talking, the new 560's or the original styling? I assume original as they are similarly priced to 360's...

power, power , power is number one. to slow for me. I fear to race anyone

seats kill my back and I'm in my young twenties , i have tried every position and no dice

shifting is absurd, so hard. it feels like I'm gonna brake something with aggressive down shifting ( of course you can get the CS TCU which I have yet to install )

old technology, there will always be something newer every year

price to pay for belts is sick, they thought of that to get more money, now there switching to ceramic brakes so they can charge for that and not belts

    torque? what torque.

the only things I like about the 360 is that you can see the engine ( well if you look down) , and the lines, not to bad for a "old" car, and I can say I have a ferrari.

it might just be me, as I'm never satisfied my girls says.

I would definitely go with Gallardo regardless the current one or the LP560. In the first place, Gallardo has more power than a 360, IMO, even before visiting Hefner. As previous owner of an 08 Spyder Gallardo, I believed it has a better handling than a 360. Although F430 might be the same level as the Gallardo or better, it really boils down to your own discretion.

I know I will be losing power.. my esprit is currently at 460hp adn 440TQ and weights 2800lbs.. so it pretty much kills a 360 and gallardo acceleration wise..

my goal isn't to get a FASTER car.. but a different car.. one that I will enjoy.. and I must admit even though for the same money the gallardo is MORE CAR.. the 360 certainly has it's appeal there as well..

It is a tough decision.. if you use your MIND you will choose GALLARDO.. if you use your heart it makes the decision a bit more difficult :)

Gallardo faster but feels heavy, 360 slower but more nimble.........both will give you wood though! :)

    One's a Ferrari, one's an Audi! ;)

Gallardo (or an Audi) is a fast LOOK-AT-ME car while the 360 is very nimble and easy to drive - even a novice will be able to do. It is more of a personal preference.

Please dont street race. It's illegal, dangerous, stupid & innocent people die to such stuff

As for the 360 vs. Gallardo...I would chose a Gallardo over a regular 360. Other than the fact Im too tall to fit in a Gallardo, I almost bought one. Instead my Ferrari dealer offered me a Stradale and I wouldnt trade that for any Lambo. Still have the CS and havent looked back

i went through this same dilemma 7 months ago. i test drove the 360 and the gallardo extensively. the gallardo won in every catagory. i think the 430 is more of a competitor to the Gallardo then the 360. the fit and finish in the engine bay and inside the Gallardo felt more put together (like a german car). also for handling i prefer the Gallardo vs the 360 I guess that’s just personal preference. I’m not bashing the 360 since i love the styling and sound but just the lack of power and fit and finish. made my decision. if we meet up sometime I’d be more than happy for you to take a spin in my gallardo.

i would consider the fallowing cars:

    Murcielago
    Gallardo
f430 ( i would love to get into one just can't justify spending that amount when i would get into a 04+ Murcielago with 600+ hp)
    997tt or GT3

fyi: i'm 6'2 and fit perfectly fine my gallardo

When you visit the Lambo factory and see the Gallardo being built you will be struck by the huge amount of components that have Audi and VW stamps on them. The most visible aspect I saw of this was the brake assembly. It was all Audi brand product. Hoses, belts, switchgear - all Audi. The Factory parts bins are are labeled VW. The Gallardo is simply assembled at the Lambo Factory. Nothing is made there other than some of the upholstery. This really an Audi. A very nice, fast Audi, but an Audi nevertheless. The Audi R8 is a better car because it's built in Germany by more motivated techs.
Ferrari is owned by the Fiat Holding company Fiat S.p.a., but it has no direct relationship to the Fiat car making subsidiary, Fiat Auto S.p.a other than the contractual relationship is has to provide engines and paintwork for the Maserati brand.

I had a Gallardo before my 360. I think the 360 seats are more comfortable. The 360 is definitely roomier! As for torque... definitely don't buy a 360 for it. In fact, don't buy a Gallardo either. Both feel slow compared to my 1000hp Heffner supercharged Viper :)

At the end of the day, buy what you like based on your own decision. Drive both, don't depend on our opinions. Everyone will have a list of pros and cons at the end of the day, and very different lists at that. I personally like the 360 drive better, maybe due to RWD vs AWD. I had a 911 turbo before the lambo, and felt that while both handled great they weren't as fun as either the RWD 360 or Viper.

I have my 360 up for sale, looking at the 430 now. I drove my friend's 430, and it is AWESOME :)

May I have your permission to send these facts to the family of a deceased state legislator whos Corvette was hit when a Mercedes and Mustang were racing one another about 5 minutes from my house?

*IF* you street race..please dont. Its stupid, illegal, dangerous and lethal. Take it to the track.

I bought a 360 last year and never felt safe driving in high speeds and sharp turns....
A few months ago I drove a friends Lambo G.
Now IM seriously looking for a 2005 G. I love the 4 wheel drive and it feels like its not about to snap in half....
Although I think the 360 is a much better looking car and much sexier interior...

    SO...YOU SHOULD BUY BOTH!!

The main point you seem to miss is that he stated "innocent" lives are lost. Not the 2 idiots racing each other, but people minding their own business following the road laws...

Those stats are useless for the argument anyway, most are avoidable deaths and are self inflicted; don't drink, don't smoke, don't sit under coconut trees etc etc.

Now back to the OP. Just remember the Gallardo did come out in 2003 and the 360 is based on a 1999 model, so of course the Gallardo will win alot of the MORE CAR prize. They used the 360 after all as a benchmark :)

Just test drive both and GOOD LUCK and post pics once you get it :D

Street racing posts are a TOU violation here. There's a sticky somewhere about it.

toshiba, warning only this time, anymore street racing posts will get you a short stay in the timeout box.
