Looks like Rosso Rubino, but that's just a guess. Can you get the paint code from under the rear deck?

Just look for the paint code... It's that easy... Then let us know what you found...

I agree with Tillman and Parker, looks like Rosso Rubino to me.

    Best regards,
    Dino

Looks a little light for Prugna, but I'm no expert.

Is one more readily available than the other? Statistically it would be the more available color I suppose.

    Thanks for the input everybody.

I think it may be Rosso Metallico. Definitely not Prugna. I think Rubino is more of a wine red color. Either way, it's pretty rare.

Obvious question, but are you sure the paint is original?

That's Rosso Rubino -- a beautiful color that continues to this day. (The 599 GTB Fiorano I drove for my car column last year was Rosso Rubino.)

You can take the car to a good profesional auto paint supplier & they will scan the car to give you the exact color code. I did that with my car & it took only a few minutes. Now it's easy to get paint as I have the exact code numbers.

Good point, it's not, however the last owner of 23 years assured me it was the exact same color.

On the ferrari owners site this is what I have from my VIN... "Exterior colour ROSSO CORSA FER 300"

Does this mean anything? I guess I'm lost without the paint code unless Rosso Corsa is the original color...pardon, colour....

Online paint chips and pictures just don't show very well so I'd go with Vito's advice and take it to a pro.

Picture from Mr. Brent's website http://www.jb330gt.com/Colors.htm
