Interesting article about a woman suicide bomber. The last sentence in the article is 'interesting'. I wonder if that is also what they say when men blow themselves up?

As the car drives away, the video, shot through the rear window, shows her approaching the checkpoint. She is quickly obscured from view by the dust trail behind the car. Nearly a minute later there's a flash, a muffled boom and a column of black smoke. "God is great!" says the cameraman. "The stupid woman did it."

Elivating women to the highest slot in the coorporation; mayrter.

What more could you ask for?

P.S. For those who are hard-of-reading, this is called sarcasm.

    Couple issues--

    1) Use of the expression "Since the end of the war". War's over? What exactly are we calling this now? Flying a banner on an aircraft carrier and giving a speach in your tailored flight suit with a sock stuffed down your crotch doesn't automatically call the match. Our soldiers are in a foreign land getting killed by hostiles using guns, RPGs and IEDs. The video clips and photographs I see sure look awfully "warry". But I guess not calling it war makes things a little better and easier to digest each night.

    2) Maybe if they called this duck what it is--wartime--our soldiers would be at liberty to thoroughly do their jobs, including the search of women. Respecting women is very noble, but the moment they start blowing themselves up is the moment they get searched like men. We can't be held to higher levels of engagement over there if the insurgents don't follow them. Remember when mosques used to be sacred? The only respect women receive over there right now is through our soldiers not searching them. The moment this practice begins, I'm sure the Muslim community will be up in arms over American disrespect of their women. Yet they treat them like sheet themselves, but that's OK. Their women are their property.

The image that haunts me is from the Bush's War documentary. Regardless of your opinion of the movie, the video that shows an American checkpoint guard getting shot in the head from the backseat of a car is very real. If you haven't seen it, it's not pretty. But it underscores the importance of either letting these soldiers do their jobs properly, or getting them the hell out of there. We can't tie an arm behind their backs out of respect for a set of "morals", "codes" or "laws" that nobody else over there seems to give a phuck about.

I would say there were 2 wars
the 1st war was over when Saddam's regime collapsed

the 2nd war started when AlQuaeda sent in its insurgents

and that war ended when Al Quaeda collapsed

    so

What we have now is an occupation of Iraq

Spring training. Regular season. Playoffs. World Series. If they're pitching and hitting, it's still baseball. Like I said, the administration takes the attitude that by labelling this as something less than war, it somehow minimizes what's actually going on over there as well as the world's perceptions. They're not the first ones to do it. But they're still doing it.
