Instead of buying a Coupe, perhaps a Gransport would be better for your needs.

The Gransport is more expensive than the Coupe but the biggest difference in price comes from the later model years. A higher mileage GS should run between $55K-$65K. For a similar year Coupe, you should expect to pay $50K-$55K. Of course an early year Coupe with high mileage may sell for $35K. However, the early year Coupes may have some issues and don't really compare. Don't get caught up comparing prices between an early year Coupe and a late model GranSport.

Funny, I thought so based on those homes in the background, and I thought the area code on the sign is 416. It looks just like my hometown in Niagara, I grew up in little brick houses like those.

 

In my opinion, the best buy available right now in a Maserati is a 2004-2005 Coupe with the cambiocorsa (F1) transmission. An '04 with moderate miles (15K-20K) can run from the high $30Ks for an undesirable color to the mid $40Ks for a desirable color. In my opinion, the very minor updates on the GranSport model just aren't worth the price premium.

When it come to Coupes, A number of hardware and software updates from 2002 to 2004 make the '04s and newer much more desirable. If you must buy an early model to get into your price range, look into getting a standard stick shift transmission instead of the cambiocorsa unit. There were lots of clutch/pump/relay issues with '02/'03 cc transmissions.

Also, the cc transmission may be problematic for a daily driver if you run into traffic with any amount of regularity. Awesome cars but they can be a real drag to drive in traffic. Just my 2 cents.
