http://www.fantasyjunction.com/used-cars.php?id=0b3d36460ad8cfc21e771c378b0bdc54 Does anyone know the details of this engine-- how it's made and how it runs? Though it's a copy of sorts the work seems remarkable. john
No idea, but I imagine the magazice articles mentioned by Fantasy Junction would have some details. I'd love to get a look at the crank. Jack.
Tiff Needel tested one of these Appennine replicas on the "old" Top Gear. He talked about the engine design and construction. You might find something on youtube. Beautiful looking car.
Gents...this might help http://members.optusnet.com.au/~saltheart/Appenine.html and where it might have been - http://www.oldtimeraustralia.com/index.php?q=car&id=269 Ed
Absolutely fascinating and very nicely done! It must be fun to drive, although, for $375K, there are many alternatives to consider even if one doesn't want a real vintage car.
It's just 2 Alfa Romeo "Nord" production engines inline ... why they simply did not purchase a replica 8c engine confuses me, they are made to keep the old P3's, etc. going. Pete
The confusion will relate to price given the replica 8C engines run over $200,000+,this Alfetta based engine was built by Weslake in UK with 8 Cylinder crank, cams and rods & more. It is amazing to drive given weight & performance.
