This could be it, fellas. The stores have been given their eviction notices as of the end of June. It looks like this Sunday could be the last Church of the Holy Donut in it's current configuration. We will move to the other side of Old 29, behind the shopping center, in the commuter lot.

With that said, try to make it out Sunday the 29th to pay homage to this institution of higher horsepower We've had a great run and have seen many, many cool cars.

To the uninitiated, Church of the Holy Donut holds weekly services at the intersection of old rt 29 and 198 in Burtonsville, MD in the parking lot of the Dunken Donuts and Amish Market. Services start around 8 am and last until 11 or so. You will see everything from old school rat rods, classics, modified pro street, muscle cars, exotics and everything inbetween.

    Let's make this one special!

    warm regards

Very impressive, I had no idea that there were that many interesting cars there. It always helps when the photos are of such high quality. Unfortunately, will be away this weekend, but I look forward to coming out later in the summer.

That's what makes this gathering so unique. I take some credit for motivating the rather sleep deprived exotic community for getting up early on Sunday mornings to make it out. We used to have a very steady flow of exotics coming from Grand Touring when they were located in Laurel. Chuck had brought everything from Marriot's 66 GT 40 to the black Allard, various Lambos and Ferraris. Chuck did come out in his orange Muira about a month ago. Hopefully he will make it out again.

For the most part, you will find some beautiful hot rods and classics. The Chevelle pictured and mentioned above is the culmination of over $200,000 and 10 years of continuous developement.

I'm trying to get Rod Sodbury to bring out his 2300 hp 63 Vette but don't know if he will make this weekend. I also have another aquaintance with a 1500 hp Viper I'm trying to get out.

Just for fun, see how many of ya'all can make it out this weekend.

    regards

We are not sure if this is the last one at this location. It all depends when the destruction/construction starts. When the parking lot is closed, we will move to behind the shopping center on the other side of Old 29. There is a commuter lot which is unused on Sundays. We've spoken with the cops who have no issue with us going over there.

However, we are not really asking for permission. As the saying goes, ask for forgiveness, not permission. All it would take would be some bureaucratic tree hugging wimp to say no and immediately put the cabash on the gathering. As long as we police ourselves and keep all the horsepower under control, we should be fine. There is a Starbucks right there. Plus someone knows the owner of Fractured Prune and is seeing if he will bring out his mobile donut making unit to the lot.

But for now, let's party likes its 1999! Hopefully the weather will hold up. See ya'all there! I'm attaching some photos from last week.

I'll be there! I'm not a Ferrari owner, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express the other night.

I'll be in a very bright yellow asc/McLaren... Its really just a fancy Mustang, but don't say anything like that around it, you might hurt its self esteem. :)

What a great time. Thanks to everyone who came out. The weather held up but the clouds scared away some folks around 10. The Ferrari folks all held there ground and hung out.

I'm told that when the sheds dissapear from the Amish lot, the construction will start. That is probably 2 weeks or so away. So, we will have another go at it next week.

I ended up having a nice photoshoot with Chuck and his beautiful blue 456.

    regards
