It that Miura S, which contains the engine from a SV?.. I know one, that has the SV´s engine. It has the same color and the background also seems to be the same.
Simply not true, it was the idea of André Zenari, part owner of swiss dealer Lambo Motors, at that time Lamborgini Swiss was Codeco, but they were only importer without own garage. There was no cooperation with the factory at all, the made it completely alone in Aesch where Lambo Motors had it's domicile. They had also the Faena there and also the bravo was sold to lambo motors, they had quite a strong relationsship to Leimer. If somebody needs a confirmation I can give the phone number of Zenari...
Different car.... but speaking of SV items, it seems to have SV side sills, perhaps planned that way?

Joe, I think you mean the rocker panels. I'm sure you know this is a late S and it has the grille on the rocker panel like on an SV, (rockers on this car are on temporarily right now, they need to be aligned better).4689 being a second series S has the same thing. I'm not sure at what point S's were considered to be second series with the updates.
Alex: Series 2 P400S are generally thought of as the vented disc cars onwards. The exact car is noted on the Registro on my website www.joesackey.com. However, I should point out that even the last few P400S originally had standard sills/rockers when the cars were built at Bertone SpA as the attached images show. Im afraid this is one of those "Miura theories" that has evolved unchecked over the years and has generally become accepted by some as gospel. As soon as SV production began in early 1971 and from that time onward, the only replacement sills/rockers available was the SV item and even the factory mounted these on P400S as replacements for easily-damaged originals. I am aware of some P400 that also have them fitted. They also supplied them worldwide. A P400S wearing SV sills/rockers has had the original P400S 'slimline' items replaced. Hi Joe, You're probably right, at the end of the S run who knows what happened at the factory, intentional or not. I know one thing though, I have pictures of 4764 being delivered new from the factory and it does have the SV rockers, I also know 4689 was brought into the US in 1972 practically new by Lubin, spent 10 years in a container at a customs impound lot in Downey and ended up with Gutsue who never did anything to the car, also has the same rockers. If I'm not mistaken these rockers and the inserts bracket have body numbers on them ( I have to double check). My assumption is that some late S models did leave the factory with SV rockers, now whether that was the intent of the factory or they simply ran out of parts for the S, who knows.
