A before and after resto of mine. Shadow DN9, De Angelis when new in 1979 and Charlie Warner 2004 in the HGP series Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
No, Charlie purchased the remains directly from Don Nichols in CA. I restored the car to as original as we could determine except for the sliding skirt set up. Used a Nicholson DFV from the UK and only a 5 speed gearbox. Much is original sourced through Don's wharehouse in Carmel, CA and refreshed. Obviously new fuel cell/lines/coolers/wheels for safety and durability. Car should be in Elkhart and the Glen upcoming July. Now run by GE Motorsports for Charlie. Brian
Neato. I came across an alleged Benetton in the Gilles Villeneuve museum in Berthierville. They cannibalized it into a "simulator", but I have a hard time believing it was a Bennetton. Will post pics later.

Another Shadow out of my shop back in the day, DN8A at the inaugral Indy USGP, Phil Gumpert owner/driver. This pic was in the second years programme! Love the teams hanging over the wall. This car was the car driven by Zorzi, which caught fire in Kyalami causing the marshal to run across the track and being hit by Tom Pryce's sister car and killing Tom. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, Cooper FIII's! We had around five of them at the Pittsburgh race last year. They go well when pedaled hard...
Hah! Harry G was tearing it up there, for sure! I've had some of my best races with Harry. He's a great guy and a hell of a shoe! Man, from F1 to 500's... Sounds like you're going the right way back down.
Just going full circle I guess. Started with Formula Junior 40 years ago in the mud at Brands/Mallory et al.
Good grief, I'm digging here to keep this thread up top....... A couple of my Hesketh connections, first my old pal Baz, Barrie Maskell drove F3 back in the beginning alongside Mr Hunt in F3. Second is the 308E ran in late 1978 Aurora series out of the Towcester stables, later I spent a couple months dyno testing the motorcycle. It's a stretched chassis Cooper Formula Junior (500) fitted with a J A Prestwick 1000cc V-twin alcohol burning engine used in the hillclimbs around the UK in the 50/60s. Harry's (my shop) was a Formula 2 version raced by Cliff Allison in 55, same engine. Cliff was the first driver to score World Driver Champ points for Team Lotus.
At least we hit 25,000 views. Possibly this section can redeemed itself from the tabloid leading thread about Mosley. Shame that is the number one viewed thread in a long time.
I still have many more photos, in boxes in storage. Need to be found, then scanned. I am looking, will take a few more weeks.
