I have a Ferrari and am definitely a woman. However, most people/friends on here treat me like one of the "guys"! ;)-

Hold on red4recat, now I remember you. Just looked at your profile picture. You were down here last year with your 360 for the make a wish foundation event. Noble cause, but I remember talking to you when you were with your boyfriend and sporting your wedding ring at the same time. lol Damn! Did you husband know about that? That's bold. Did you buy the Ferrari or was that part of the divorce? Just curious. Don't remember anyone treating you like you were a guy.

It is interesting how the language and tenor of "conversation" changes when addressing a woman on this forum.

Cars are enjoyed by women too!!! And not every woman depended on a man to buy her the car.

I wonder how many men came from poor families and worked for years to "earn" theirs. In my experience, without any slight intended, the majority of exotic car owners I meet come from wealthy families. The rest "dream" about owning a Ferrari one day.

Yeah, maybe that was a bit sexist, but I've been to many car events. I don't remember meeting any professional or business women that were really into the cars or owned them as a result of blood, sweat, and tears, or inheritance. Do you?

+1. Have to agree with the good doctor.
The text in post #28 would make a better PM than a post for all to read.

A real class act don't ya think? Maybe his F car is just a penis extension to help him deal with stronger women. Heaven knows his tact is lacking. :):)

Unfortunately there are a lot of guys out there that assume a woman cannot afford a ferrari by her own means...usually, i find they think that way because they cannot afford one by their own means... there are always assumptions and there are always exceptions to everything...

Since I started this post let me clarify my intent behind it; it seemed to me, women were not involved in any of the discussions. I am curious to hear from the women who drive these cars what they enjoy about them. I encourage all of them to attend the meets and race events since I never see them there.

Unfortunately, Orlando360 was personally attacking ME....not women in general. It seems Holminator wanted to make me look bad since I want NOTHING to do with him, so he made up that username.

Fortunately though, my husband, bst1, and I BOTH get to enjoy our passion for Ferrari's and have "his" and "hers". I know several wives that would love to have their "own" Ferrari and share our love of these cars. However, a lot of us women are mom's and need more practical cars, so having several "extra" cars isn't always obtainable.

I have always loved cars, motorcycles and racing. I used to race BC (before children) and worked in the automotive field for many years before "retiring". I can talk cars, work on cars and drive just as good as most of you guys, so I feel I deserve to be here. It is sad some have a problem with that. However, I bet most of you "guys" think we rock!

My wife and I have a similar situation, although (for reasons which illude me) she rather drive our Mercedes SL55 or one of our other cars. I am sorry to have witnessed the personal attacks, clearly uncalled for here. I, for one, enjoy these (car) discussions, and from my point of view, we all "deserve" to be here as long as we treat each other civily. Congratulations on your "balancing" act, i.e. Ferrai and children, we have 6 of them (childrend that is) only outnumbered by the cars we own. Best

Six children? If I were you I would let your wife drive ANY car she wanted!!!!!!!!!

(me= bowing to your wife..."I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy"!) Awesome!

    good post

my wife and I fight over which Ferrari one will take to work that day. She can rebuild carb, trany, do tuneup, discuss boring out engines etc. with the best of them: She's actually MUCH better at it than I, my last project was the 1925 Model T pickup which is more in keeping with my knowledge.

As you may understand better than I, I live in her house, but she makes a home for me. Although we "made" the kids together, her part looked a bit rougher. Best

    well put,

Completely agree and brought up my daughters in the same manner - they both drive better than most men their age, and have fair taste in automobiles (one driving a 135i, the other a recent Civic Type R), but even they sometimes get "slack" from men they are associates with about driving "boyish" cars...
I have mentioned this before on this forum but, my wife is the one who got me into Ferraris back in the 90s - before we were married she was driving a Dino and i a 911TargaS (in the 70s) - we cliqued at first sight just because we were both driving targas. She bought the car cheap, as it was damaged and needed work - and she paid her brother to get it back in working order... in months, she was in a crisp new car.. No wealth, or inheritance involved, just hard work and desire - like the rest of us. (or some of us)

I am not sure why it matters to some, what type of people drive and buy Ferraris... I've seen a thread asking about "black" owners, yet the OP had no real purpose of knowing.
    ---------------------------------------
And for the record, i am far from balding or having white or silver hair! Doing quite well actually ;)

Funny thing about Ferrari's and marriages...my husband and I like to joke that we are the "Ferrari Couple" because Ferrari was kind of what brought us together. When we met, I had my 360 and he had his current F430. Having such a great mutual interest really adds to a great relationship. He even arranged for a Ferrari factory tour last October and proposed to me there! Just as he feels that it is great to have me to share his passion for Ferrari's, I feel the same about him. I just traded in my 360 when we placed our order for the new Scuderia. We can't wait to welcome our new "baby".

As for my Ferrari ownership...kind of worked my way up to it through the usual German fare. Once I got my 360, I never looked back at a Porsche again :)

I can confirm all of the above. Certainly you "deserve to be here" a lot more than some wannabe loser that will never own a Ferrari (can you guess who that is?)

Very cool! A family of true Tifosi indeed! It's great to see a husband and wife that both share a love of Ferrari and cars in general! I enjoy being around that.

It's interesting to me that someone who professes to have a superior car and professes to hate most of us (Ferrari owners) would even bother to post on this site. Perhaps one day he'll get the help he needs.... time to move on to more important things...

    lets go driving and soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
