    With the recent advent of covers over the wheels, I see it as only a matter of time before the teams start selling advertising there. Frankly, I'm amazed none of them have thought of this yet. If Colin Chapman were still around, I suspect he would never have even bothered to try to make them look like a BBS at all - there would have been a corporate logo there from day one.

    So how long until the teams start doing this, and which team will be the first?

    Tecnically, painting them to look like a BBS rim is an ad for BBS. I'm sure thats why they do it.

    You could be right, but I'm not so sure. If I was BBS, I'd want more than just an image of some "spokes" on there; I'd want to see the corporate logo on there before handing over the check.

    What a great idea!!

    I remember a toy that when you spun it, a moving image appeared. I saw one with a ballerina. This could be used for the wheel covers, the image of your sponsors logo appears in 3D..................;}

    Haha. That would nice... except for the fact that the wheel covers don't move!

    The FIA might have something against advertising on wheel covers? Who knows. The best type of advertising for a wheel manufacturer would be to display their wheels though yeah? Besides, it's a small not-smooth space. I doubt anything decently readable would fit there.

    The rear ones move, so it´s not a bad idea.

    By the way, a few teams already have the logos of their wheel suppliers painted on the hubs.

    About five years ago one of the Champ Car teams had LEDs in the spokes of their wheels...when the car drove an image of the Toyota logo appeared.

    Does anybody else remember this? I can't find a picture.
