Yeah brother. Been done MANY times!! A certain Fchatter that frequents this section even has a 348 with 355 bits.
Good deal?? Whats a good deal?? Fill me in chico!! I dont know if I want to trade up man. How about I just add a 355 to the stable.
Easy to answer Steve... Killer 355 looks with the great 348 mechanicals... By the way, my car was 'transformed' by a previous owner... but, I like it. Mike in Kuwait
Good idea, I'm thinking of adding a 456 to the stable next but not in the near future for me brother. 150k or near (read lower) will own the 355, looks like a good car, 98 done 23kms, spider and silver too, 6spd manual etc etc, nothing to do with me i just saw it and thought it was a sweet deal, and i know you like sweet deals Pap. Certainly looks great in that pic! I dont think I could own a Ferrari Spider man. After all the sh*t I lay on Goth about hair gel and hairdryers because he drives a 355 Spider, he would NEVER let me live it down if I got one. Is that NZ $150K? If it is, then thats only AU $118K!! That is a GREAT price for that car!!! They are still big coin over here 355 Spiders. I wonder what its like to bring in a car over from New Zealand to here. Didnt you look into it James?
Here ya go!! Most expensive 355 Spider is AU$230K and the cheapest is asking AU$165K with 4 cars in between that price range. http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-cars/search.aspx?N=279%204294966867%204294966866%201426 The owner of the $230K Spider needs to stop smoking crack I reckon!
Mate that is NZ$, its a sweet deal You should buy it and transport it over then sell it for a profit after enjoying the driving experience that is :the best car in the world..........EVER" Could make your self enough to buy another Mc D's combo! Hay, why don't I do that....... Importing is easy enough, transport is around 3k NZ$ then you have the tax to deal with, still it will work out cheap enough to make a profit on. LOL @ smoking crack...........
That is awesome then. I am actually looking at buying another property at this moment in time, so I dont think I could swing another $130K to pick this car up sadly.
Great time to be buying property Pap, if its anything like over here that is. The media are driving the market crazy, people actually believe that crap. Oh well, more for us i guess
IMO if someone want's the 355 looks then they should buy a 355 the Ferrari that they really want, the 348 and 355 are both Ferrari's, and like all Ferrari's have mechanical weaknesses so why not buy the one that you want instead of making some bitsa car that is neither one nor the other.
But obviously they do want the 355's maintenance/repair bills. Cracked headers and worn valve guides anyone??
Steve, I agree... but in my particular case, I paid just over $17K for the car...so, well, it is what it is...like I said, a previous owner made the changes, now it's mine, for better or worse. Mike in Kuwait
Mike, my comments weren't aimed at you, as you say you didn't do the mods More at anyone who would do mods like that, at the end of the day it is each to their own, I just don't grasp it I'm afraid
As long as you are happy with it Mike, then thats the main thing. And I know you are happy with it! I also reckon it looks great and for that price, I would have bought 2 of them.
Mike, I think most people like your car... I do. Plus you got it WAY cheaper than a 355 would have cost. Seems like lots of 348 owners are interested in replacing the black rear grills. Some like the cleaner look with no side strakes, and I've seen a few 348s in which the strakes were removed to look similar to the 355. I plan to keep my 348 stock, including black lower valences, but I may consider the round tail-light conversion, provided it can be installed to easily convert back to stock later if I want.
