Valentino truly loves his sport and respects it. He has a lot of fun doing it, it's fun watching him enjoy it. He isn't a pretentious little bastard.

Apparently, and unfortunately, this streak is continuing....

 

Valentino is the greatest thing to EVER happen to motorsport and we can only hope he gets sick of riding bikes and comes over to F1, boy does this sport need someone like him

I have rarely seen anything from Valentino other than humility , except when he was racing Biaggi

He has great fun, rides hard, makes crap bikes look good and admits if his fellow riders do well, he is a true champion both on and off the track ..... and his end of race antics are things of legend compared to the F1 crowd

are you belittling Valentino's achievements and honesty ?

 

On a bike, the rider makes up more of the difference between machine and man.

 

John, I'am not into bikes, I have hurt myself to many times on them.

I know of Rossi, no nothing of his personal traits not that it would matter to me, heard that he did test a F1 car and was very good ,hope he does get into F1, even his name sound's fast..

The fact that EVEN a thread about motor bikes starts up by bashing Lewis is my point!!.,as well you know.

 

If and when I hear/read that the man in question , i.e Kimi was upset that Lewis did not grovel low enough, or was not humble enough or retracted his apology or whatever you think, I will then assume you have a point.

But to be quite frank ,this is a ridiculous discussion, and one which I find meaningless ,if you think Lewis is a negative to F1, so be it.!! ........I find it quite ironic you have defended Max.

And its sad because apart from your take on Lewis ,you have a lot of great thing's to say.

 

I think the point is Steve, that even a multiple world motoGP champion, probably the best in history, can admit he has screwed up.

I liked him more than Doohan because Doohan could make some arrogant remarks which did not endear him.

I think the last guy to go from bikes to cars was John Surtees (successful transition ie, WC bikes->WC cars, Nuvolari did it as well, Mike Hawthorn ?)

This is ridiculous. Didn't your golden child Massa blame everything other than himself when he lost his car during the race early this season? The only one in F1 I recall who will admits his own mistakes is Kimi, which I admire very much.

No question Ron baits others who have disagreed with him on issues in the past. His threads, although informative, almost always contain a sligh comment relating to a posters previous diasagreeing opinion.

 

I thought he apologized for telling everybody he'd be driving a F1 Ferrari soon.

At the end of the day I will never be WDC but I will probably have more fun on the track than these guys (not Rossi though, he is mad) and the only interview I get when I come off the track is "you are nuts" or "that was the best spin I've ever seen" , to which I cannot reply because I have too big a grin, Steve McQueen got it right, there is only racing, everything else in between is just waiting for the race.... or something to that effect (you watch the pedants )

 

You can`t bash the guy for saying he made a mistake, in the real world how many people admit when they are wrong? Everybody allways blame somebody else, Valentino is a class act , a true racer.

I like Coulthard and Button, but many of the other British racing drivers are all the same. Mansell used to whinge like nobody else, and Lewis is treading down the same path.

Atleast Mansell was fncken exciting to watch when he was wound up, AND atleast Mansell earned his competitive seat the proper way. Sorry I simply don't like Lewis, I don't like the fact that his being in F1 is all to do with British money for Bernie and I don't like new drivers starting in competitive teams ... makes a mockery of the sport.

Yes he is fast and yeah he will probably (but I'm not so sure) make WDC one day, but Coulthad and Jensen Button have better attitudes and from what I have seen so far would be a better example to the rest of the world of British sports people.

I will say that I feel a little sorry for him, because the British have put him up on a unrealistic pedistal where the only way forward is down . If he had been correctly humble when paired with Alonso and set the correct expectations to the press then I would like the guy ... instead he talked BS (he should have instead said: It's only my first year and I am working hard to watch and learn, even if I do manage to win a few races ... ) and really caused what he is getting now, ie: British press beating him up for not performing.

Actually he did say this. Last year he praised Alonso, and said things like "He's a bloody good driver" and that he was "learning a lot from him". The problem is, journalists know they woln't generate as much buzz with these comments as they would others. You see how you people are taking to his comments like sharks to a bloody leg? You're all falling for it like the sheep journalists and politicians know you can be.

 

Thus I need to eat some humble pie then .

Pete, Jim (Maxorido ) said it really, folk just hear what they want to hear, to me It seems Hamilton is doing exactly what everyone has been hoping a driver would do and he gets criticized for it.

 

I wouldn't expect anything less..
