Seriously if you love music ...........

    Whose speech, originally?

    "Think for yourself
    Question authority

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos. It has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself........................."

You know what you are. What you're made of. War is in your blood. Don't fight it. You didn't kill for your country. You killed for yourself. God's never gonna make that go away. When you're pushed, killing's as easy as breathing.

Somehow this turned into a movie quotes thread about being experienced, so I'll play. From one of my favorite movies:

"So if I asked you about art, you'd probably give me the skinny on every art book ever written. Michelangelo, you know a lot about him. Life's work, political aspirations, him and the pope, sexual orientations, the whole works, right? But I'll bet you can't tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You've never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling; seen that. If I ask you about women, you'd probably give me a syllabus about your personal favorites. You may have even been laid a few times. But you can't tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman and feel truly happy. You're a tough kid. And I'd ask you about war, you'd probably throw Shakespeare at me, right, 'once more unto the breach dear friends.' But you've never been near one. You've never held your best friend's head in your lap, watch him gasp his last breath looking to you for help. I'd ask you about love, you'd probably quote me a sonnet. But you've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer. And you wouldn't know about sleeping sitting up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes, that the terms 'visiting hours' don't apply to you. You don't know about real loss, 'cause it only occurs when you've loved something more than you love yourself."

For the record, I haven't been on this planet long enough to consider myself experienced. Jimi was long gone before I arrived, as was Lennon, and Bonzo. I've seen Page/Plant in concert, as that was the best I could do. My dad lived across from Golden Gate Park in the 70s, and I must say I'm a bit jealous. My generation is no fun. Carry on, boys.

    I'd believe it :)

    Tim of course :)

Ahh Good Will Hunting is such a fantastic movie. "Do you like apples?"

I hope someone sees the humor in my "I saw Tool once" post. I'm still a young pup by most measures. Not experienced in everything, but like to share what experiences I have had in the hopes that others can learn. That is essentially what we are all here for right, learning? Well for some it is breeding...but that is another thread.

"What do I get for $5?"

"Oh, that's good because for a second there I thought you were talking about A ****ING MASK"

You still have a chance of changing that from one time. Unlike the Jimi fans :(. Speaking of Tim did you know Albert Hoffman died?
Anyways back on topic or uh off topic.
    Name the movie:
"It’s not that hard to make a
    universe. At first, you just
checked in every once in a while.
    See how the Neanderthals were
    doing. Move some continents
around. But then you got more into
it. Starting playing a couple of
    characters of your own. Kings.
    Slaves. Messiahs. Pretty soon,
    you were playing 24/ 7"

Same here, Tampa Stadium. When they started a thunderstorm let loose with lightning everywhere. When the sparks started popping onstage after about 15 minutes of play, they quit.

    Then the riots started...

    "What?"

    "Kiss me. When I'm ...."

Al Pacino, while negotiating with the police, says,
"Kiss me." What? "Kiss me." he says again, "I like to get kissed a lot when I'm being f***ed."

    Dog Day Afternoon

Can see the scene at around 2:26 into this youtube video:
