I bet once they get in the market the prices will come down, though even when found cheap $300 will be a GOOD price for it... save up your pennies and dimes ;)

I was/am pretty impressed with the Tamiya Enzo, I expect quality and detail at least in line with that, if not better. The inidcation I got from Derrick was that we would be impressed. Guess we'll find out in a few days...

Looking forward to the photos, this is now on my list of models to get. I will get the Enzo first, then i might try for the super car set, that would look great on my coffee table. :)

Need to save my pennies as well :D

I guess the race is on. Who will receive their 1/12 288 GTO first?

Takes too long to get to Florida from the Great White North.... So I don't see myself winning that bet ....but I'm crossing my fingers for early next week.

I would guess Canadian customers would win... That aside, it's not TOO far from there to Kansas City, I hope I'm first, but I won't hold my breath...

How do you know when it's scheduled? Did you have it shipped UPS? Also, you'd better hope for Thursday, because I doubt anyone is going to get them, or anything else (here in the States) on Friday.

not to sound like a giddy school boy on an internet forum, but: EPIC WIN!

That's awesome. I demand you post more, right now!!! I can't believe the "unicorn" is real... after all these years...

EDIT: what's your location, just so we've got an idea of how much longer we have to wait...

I am located in the Great white North , three and a half hours west of Toronto, very close to Detroit.
I will take more pictures and post them.
Just looking at the quality of this model, it is very good. Paint finish is excellent.

Thanks for the pics! Can you tell us... how much of it is plastic and how much is die-cast (which panels and such)? Also, how does it feel - does it have a good weighted feel in your hands? Last question - for now - how difficult is the build? Thanks again for posting.

    Hi Roy
For the last question, I will not put together it for a long time. Not until I build a displace case for it (them). As a matter of fact , my Tamiya 1/12 Enzo and the Kyosho 1/12 F40 Light weight are still in their boxes untouch. Having said that , I don't think it is that difficult to build it. All you have to do is put the wheels on, put on the front and back hoods and and thats about it.
I believe the body shell is plastic and the engine is of matel casting. Weight wise is not that heavy if I compare it to the Kyosho F40 because the F40 shell is made out of die-cast. However, I would prefer plastic body because you can get a better paint finish. Die-casting tends to be more porous than plastic injection molding.
Tamiya seems to focus more on details this time, like the thickness of the exhaust tip is very true to scale.
Overall, I think the quality is better than the Enzo.

Any chance we could get some pics of the back, interior and underside? A lot of people don't like the plastic body (like the Tamiya Enzo), but I've got it and it seems quite nice to me. A large weight difference between it and my F40 and F50... Thanks again!

2 more pictures and again I apologize for the quality of the pictures.
For the metal vs plastic body, I will chose the plastic as I explained on my previous post. I don't know if this is just my Kyosho F40 or not because the paint finish is pretty bad. You can still see the sanding marks on the hood. Now, as a modeler , I can fill the whole metal body panel with liquid putty and then wet sand it. It is very time consuming . But for a company like Kyosho, I don't think they will spend that kind of labour cost.

Thanks for the additional pics, and answering all my questions. I really appreciate it. I can't hardly wait to get mine - the wait was easier when I knew they weren't out yet, now that I'm waiting on the mail it's unberable :)
