Ferrari Market Letter

Is the Ferrari Market Letter worth subscribing to? I'd love to see a trial issue before committing.

Can anyone email me an old (or current) copy.

What does it cover? Have you guys found a car or good parts through its classifieds?

Is the online version the same as the print version?

Or do you lose something there?

you cannot read the on-line version as easily in the can.

 

I recommend FML also. I've been online only for several years-- works for me.

 

My recollection is that if you ask nicely they'll send you a sample

Not currently subscribed, but they used to have a sample issue online also. It was around 6mo old, though. I'm assuming they still do.

As has been said, you can't take the online version to the john (unless you bring your laptop in the bathroom). But you can access the online version at any time via the Internet anywhere in the world.

Yes. If you call and request a sample copy be mailed to you, they'll send you one. You can also see a sample issue online by clicking "Sneak Peek" on the left, just below the login fields.

The Ferrari Market Letter is definitely the place to find something like that. With an online subscription, you can check previous issues that were published before your subscription took effect for a particular car (for instance, once you're logged in, go to the classifieds section that you want, i.e. 328 GTS, and click on "Previous Issue"). Sometimes people stop publishing a classified ad because they're not getting any interest, or just forget to renew it - it's not necessarily because the car sold. Good luck with your search.

 

FML is a great resource!!

 

A few other items of note about FML:

1. If you find a potential car you can ask Gerry Roush (publisher/owner) to check his files for information on that serial number. He will send back a list of when the car had been listed over the years, by whom and the highlights from the ads.

2. If the car came out of the old FAF dealership in Atlanta he may have additional information from when he was there.

3. Gerry is a trained historian.

4. Gerry is the author of one of the Daytona books. I believe he has worked on some other books too but off hand don't know which ones.

5. The cover page article in each issue is usually very interesting.

6. FML is a source to buy the various Ferrari books from.

7. For long trips to the "john" download the pdf version then print it out - that will then be the exact same version/format as the mailed version.
