    Wow, that's nice!

I knew it was white originally, MUCH better then the two-tone yellow it is now.

    Grazie!

Thanks guys. Yes, I am VERY glad I have kept my Miura.
It has been interesting to follow this forum as I definitely subscribe to the philosophy of keeping collecter cars in original form. It is rewarding when my car wins an award as I have worked to keep it in unmolested form. All of the work I've done to it is to keep the mechanicals in good working order. Those of you that maintain Miuras know what a challenge it is to find original or proper parts. I see many cars entered in concours that win all the points because they are cosmetically perfect yet the judges often don't have a clue as to what is original. Many of the cars on the concours field are over restored and no longer faithful to what the factory delivered. I wish concours had originality as a key criteria, and if they had unrestored classes we would see more of the original gems.

All that is changing. Concours are getting more 'preservation' classes and 'originality' awards from Pebble Beach down. So too there are more judges that can tell what finish, fixture, fitting or application is correct-for-period even if the car has been restored. In my book a restored car entered in a concours should not just be cosmetically perfect but should be correct-for-period to make the cut. And if it has been restored in red it should be because red was the original color!

Anyway, bravo on your fabulous Miura P400.

Perhaps you meant to say there are now more judges who CLAIM to have said ability. HA! ;^)

I have seen cars restored to non-original colors, with non-original (blatantly incorrect) components, AND missing components win First place :)

recently bought a copy of CAR magazine from 1981 mainly for the 512BB cover feature but there was also an extensive lamborghini feature amongst which mel nichols drives a RHD duck egg blue 73 SV by way of comparison with the then current supercars-would that be the same car or was the other duck egg blue SV RHD also?
BTW the car was for sale at the time for £17,000.

    The Black Sabbath car . . .
"Today the car is still finished in its unique "Azzuro Cielo" with a dark blue leather interior, its original livery. Built to the ultimate SV specification of split sump/factory fitted air-conditioning, this SV is one of 140 cars delivered by the works in unmodified spec between March 1971 and October 1973. For sale asking circa $350,000."

That's not too big money for one of the best lookers ever.
