Jaysus, what is this stuff? I've tried lacquer thinner, acetone, MEK, and sand blasting to no avail, yet it chips easily with just finger pressure until I want to get it off, then it's tenacious as hell.

Anyone find something that will attack it without damaging the paddles?

It is tough stuff, I used a wire wheel on a drill. Need to be careful not to gouge the aluminum too deep or you'll be polishing for a looong time

OK, I got about 3/4 of one bead blasted and it's just a crummy pot metal casting, what a POS.

Besides Valence are there any others that make decent carbon paddles, $850 is a bit much

Maybe I'll just put it in auto mode and forget the paddles ...............sigh

Can't do that, when I sell something it's going to be as nice and correct as I can make it.

I'm looking at Ultimate Pedals paddles, they look pretty nice for half the price of carbon, and I don't have any other carbon anyway.

I can get brushed to match the door sill inserts :D

Send them to get powder coated... they will probably strip them for you as well :)!

........... or send them to me for measuring and I will make you a set of aircraft alloy versions with the up shifter longer like the CS ...... for about half those CF ones ....... ;)

Finally after about an hour of bead blasting I got the black stuff off.

Four coats of clear coat, and installed.

Not too bad, can’t really read the Up and Down, but I didn’t want to try the toothpick trick so I left it plain.

If someone doesn’t know which is what, maybe they should be driving something else.

i would never beable to change gears with that car in Phoenix... your fingers wouldn't have finger prints anymore!!!! seriously... i cant even use the damn turn signals because they are so hot... i have realized... that for the summer months... the ferrari doesn't come out when the sun is up... plain and simple. but now we have entereed monsoon season and the rains come at night... im going to have to build a bigger garage to drive the car in.
