    AP Racing calipers, see http://www.countach.ch/Brakes/index.html

I have friends in Germany who fitted Porsche brakes, but one issue is still to solve, better braking means more heat, so racing on a track will also force you to improve cooling them down, with the larger calipers it's better but anyway I don't race my car anymore.
I made hundreds of kilometers on the track no I have a Mini Cooper S Challenge for this :)

The Cooper S is a good plan! Even with a murcielago (without ceramic brakes..) you will have toasted brake pads with good use on the track and the tyres are gone.. so new disks, pads and tyres......$$$$$

Ralph (Ti Amo Veloce), good speaking to you today indeed... I really appreciate the call. I'm working on the case and will keep you posted of course.

See what happens when traditional forms of communication are used?

    Dear Joe,

There is a lot to be said for the web but it is sometimes quite impersonal.

Thank you for the returned call. I very much enjoyed speaking to you today.

I do understand busy schedules. Whenever you have a chance to post info, will be soon enough.

I appreciate your taking the time to assist.

    All the best,

    Ralph Downey

    Joe,

Are these photos from the Klemantaski Collection or some other source?

Klemantaski. They date from 1978 and I believe this of one of the first LP400S series One being tested. In the top frame there appears to be some discussion between the parties assembled around the car, and there is another out-take image that shows some heated discussion. I think the man in the car testing is one Cesare Lodi, a test driver in the 70s (Emilio will know him).

    very cool pics

it looks a red with white interior car but hard to tell ....

he could very likely be Cesare Lodi

he was the test driver with Valentino then, both learned the job from a certain tall man named Bob ;)

BTW Cesare still like to drive S1 on these roads and has little problems keeping up with average murcie and G drivers on the roads

Yes that is definitely Cesare Lodi, a very interesting character who was there from the earliest days. He sorted out an Austrian Countach S during Count Miu, it had vapor lock IIRC.

He worked recently with Giancarlo Breviglieri who has his own workshop but I don't think he does any more.

Here is a photo I took in London in 1982, I actually chased the car in the middle of the street amidst traffic: Brits were most shocked indeed by this improper behaviour, if they had known I was French they would have thrown me in a dungeon, at least!

Small world, it turns out that it was, almost certainly, owned by a Frenchamn whom I met at Motorcar Gallery over 20 years later and who had 8 Countaches in succession. he made his money in the middle east, will find him again, probably next winter.

    Best regards,

    Marc

In fact the photo (2 posts up) is of Count Miu and the Austrian Countach is the second car in the back, the Austrian is the man standing there.
