I also think that Massa is a solid #2 driver, but I still doubt that he has tools to be a WDC. Say what you want about the setup or the repairs from the shunt, but to spin 6 times? Glock and him were having a spin contest. Massa won.

    Agree.

    Agree.

Honestly i thought they used the spare tub, but the way some of you are talking, it sounds like they just rebuilt the rear suspension. One of the problems i saw today was the bad choice in tires by ferrari. Honestly why the hell when kimi first pitted did they leave the old intermediates on? It benefitted in no way. It seems like bad decision making in the management. The tire choice trickled down to massa that is why this is relevent and second, apparently no one is allowed to have a bad day at work anymore...

The fact that you had nothing good to say about Massa's great performances in the last 5 races and now you resurrect this thread when he had a bad day because of bad handling car and a major screw up by the pit crew in Q3 explains where your F1 knowledge is at.

I cant believe no one responded to my link of Kimi, here is just a small excerpt of the festivities: There are photos at the site: Reminds me of the good old days......

Groped A Brunette Girl, And Revealed His Ass

A witnesser who was in the bar heard how Kimi was telling other people in the bar how he had got to Gran Canaria with a private jet.
He kept hitting more money on the table and left tips for waitresses for hundreds of euros. Few times he was suggesting rather harsh things to waitresses. Before leaving the bar, our formula hero dropped his pants down to his ankles and revealed his tushie on the front door, the source tells of this very strange behaviour.

According to the information we’ve got, Kimi continued from Ryysyranta-restaurant to Saloon-bar.
In Saloon, Kimi spotted a Swedish brunette and spent almost the whole night with her. They were kissing rather openly in the bar and Kimi was groping the girl whole time.According to the same eye-witnesser, Kimi also met another girl, a blonde Finnish girl at the same night.
Kimi was also hitting on some blonde Finnish girl but they didn’t get that close until the next night…

Drunk Kimi Was Carried Away From The club.
Kimi continued his partying holiday also on Wednesday. At first, Kimi was spending the night in singer Sakari Kuosmanen’s Saku’s Galley restaurant from where he wanted to go to the next Berrys’s nightclub. Berrys was full of Finns because the performer of the night was Danny [pretty famous Finnish artist if you ask my parents or grandparents, duh]. Finnish tourists didn’t bother Kimi, he just continued his drinking round like the night before.
Kimi had this inflatable giant dolphin with him and he was wrestling with it in the middle of the restaurant, pushing other customers’ drinks down. At some point he was sleeping on that dolphin next to the club, on the street

Kimi Was Yelling On Danny’s Song

Our source revealses that Kimi lost the control totally when the Finns’s favourite Danny got on stage.
Danny asked the audience to give applauses for Kimi before his show for his F1 season. At the same time drunken Kimi jumped on the stage to hang around. Danny tried to start his show but Kimi was falling over the whole time and yelling on the song, people who were there told us.For some strange reason, Kimi started to massage Danny while he tried to sing his first song. After this Kimi spotted the backupsingers. Kimi was groping shamelessly singers’s breasts and tushies on the stage

Hitted On A Blonde And Invited Her To His Hotel Room

According to the eye-witnessers Kimi didn’t stop even when Danny asked him kindly to leave the stage so he could continue his performing.
Kimi continued his mad acting until a singer Virve Rosti’s boyfriend Juha stopped it. Juha had to drag the drunken Kimi off the stage. The situation almost turned into a fight because Kimi was protesting and kicking him. According to the source, Virve’s boyfriend finally got Räikkönen out of the stage and the situation calmed down a bit. After this, Kimi continued ordering drinks again. He spotted the blonde girl again, who he had met on the night before and joined her. They were kissing and touching each other very openly. Obviously, drunk man’s messy talks worked because Kimi paid his drinks and left the club to his hotelroom, with this blonde girl

The wild vacation ended last Thursday when Kimi signed out of his luxury hotel, according to the hotel staff. “

Great performances??? Please explain your definition of great because I must be missing something. Are you refering to Turkey where he did really nothing speacial, just drove a decent race in arguably the best car on the grid on one of 3 tracks that he can legitimately win on....or, Monaco where everyone including me was happily surprised that he kept the car on the track but he did lose a position...or, Canada where he started 2nd and ended up 5th...or, in France where he was completely gifted the win. If these races are considered "Great performances by Massa", then I would hesitate to ask what are his standard performances. Also, if these are considered "great performances" by Massa, then unfortunately his WDC potential is further away than I thought.

Im sorry, I just read it on the recent post which was right after Monaco. I was just trying to change the subject from massa bashing. Even if it was 2005 he still laid in the street drunk with an inflatable dolphin which has to count for something???

Somehow I knew this thread would by flying in all its glory. Yes, Massa sucked bigtime today. But he is still tied for 1st and one good race will put this thread to bed until the next time he &*^^( up.

Kimi was not too shiny today and the trickle down decision making and strategy was not up to par either. Oh well, we are only 1/2 way.

    I still like Massa.;)

    Really nice drive for Lewis.

I'm hoping for a better result than at this year's GP :)

Taking my boy to his first GP so I will enjoy it win, lose or draw :)

I love Kimi's relaxed attitude to the whole saga, much respect for a great outlook

You have got to be kidding. Great performances? A slight embelishment, wouldn't you say? He did deliver in those cases, but other than one race, I would hardly describe those races as great performances. Bad handling car? 6 spins? His learning curve was non existent. Did you even watch the race? He spun twice as a result of clipping the inside curb too hard and even spun on the straight away.

Problem for Massa is his reputation is he is crappy in the wet and Hamilton & Kimi are excellent in the wet. Hence, if there are more wet condition in the 2nd half Massa's chances are greatly diminished.

I'm also dissapointed in Kubica you can't throw away points when you are near the top in the WDC. However, without question the best year to be watching F1 - 3 tied with 48, many lurking, it should be a shoot out from here to Brazil.

What a lame drive, Massa looked like a fish out of water. The team certainly did not help all weekend either with mistakes during practice and qualifying.

I'm by no means a hater and have actually praised his good performances, but yesterday Massa showed how NOT drive in the wet.

Why didn't they try Phil on Full Wets??? It helped RB to the tune of being 13 seconds a lap faster than Hamilton on intermediates in a much better car.

Good question. They should have changed both cars to full wets.
Ferrari as a team made a series of mistakes this weekend. Mostly on Massa's car but Kimi did not get the best of the team either.

Ferrari screwed up both drivers big time. they did at the 1st syops by not changing the inters. then when massa was struggling, it was only logical to bring him in , and get the full wets on. something they didn't do. it seems, at each wet race, they just screw up somewhere. Japan last year. monaco this year, and now.

This race proves, again, what many have said of Massa all along.

He is a good driver who can be blindingly quick when he starts in front. He can run away from the whole field. But when thrown a curveball, he totally screws the pooch.

His performance at Silverstone was nothing short of embarassing. Even the commentators were literally laughing at the guy and saying how atrocious his performance was and not becoming of a Ferrari driver.

Massa has 3 wins this season, one of which was a gift from Kimi after he experienced car problems. The other 2, one was from 2nd place (with Kubica in front), the other was from pole. Massa is good when he starts out in front and doesn't really need to pass anyone. When he does need to pass someone, he's screwed.

So we are 9 races into the season. Massa has 3 wins and 3 horrible performances. He is tied with Kimi and Lewis for 1st place, despite both of those drivers not scoring any points in the previous race when Lewis stupidly took them both out. Massa hasn't been crashed out by someone else (yet). He hasn't really had much mechanical trouble all year. Kimi has and Lewis has too... and yet they are tied with Massa.

IMO this is Massas moment in the sun. The law of averages will come into play and Massa won't keep scoring like he has, and Lewis and Kimi probably have much of their bad luck behind them. And IMO this race proves out what has been said about Massa... he's a average to good level driver who can be quick in the best car when he's out front. Other than that... no so much.

Actually he isn't: He is in 2nd place. www.formula1.com posts it correctly: As I have pointed out in the "Tide of the championship" thread, a tie with Hamilton means, that Lewis takes the lead because he won a race before Massa. Kimi is 3rd as he has one victory less than Hami and Massa. None of that is important right now, but if the season would end in a tie, considerations like this will matter.

I was going through some older fotographs and I really liked Massa back then, when he was driving a Sauber. ;)

Interesting. Massa and Hamilton have almost the exact same finishes (1,1,1,2,3,5,13,RET) except for a retirement finish for Massa compared to a 10 finish for Hamilton. Also, I believe Hamilton is ahead due to him having a 10th place finish to Massa's retirement, not due to Hamilton winning first.
