I was down in Orlando toady and stopped by Ultimate Motor Works and to my surprise they had their LP560-4 demo on hand. After a quick tour of the car (which has a white ext. with black int and egear) the sales man pulled it out of the showroom and we were off. The car when first cranked cold had an awesome exhaust note that you do not hear again until full throttle, but worth the wait. The car has tons of torque and fast shifts. The comfort level in this latest version of the Gallardo I found second to none. I have driven both a 2002 Murci and an 2004 Ferrari CS and this car was equal if not more pleasent to drive. Although I personally did not make it out of 3rd gear do to traffic I was very pleased to say the least with the car. Lambo has a real winner with this amazing machine. Now will come the hard part what color should I order.

I hate to sound negative at all, but do you really think this new gallardo looks better than the original.. I truly feel that this is a step down or at BEST sideways.. and I have seen it in person also..

The Gallardo actually STILL shares some lines with the countach (look at the hood for instance with the two long grooves) the murcie tries to hold on to the diablo tune as well.. this new car is just starting to really look.. well just not like a lamborghini

I am all for cars changing and improving their designs.. but honestly you need to have a BIT of a homage to the older cars going on.. the 360 has a touch of dino in it.. and the hood of the gallardo has a touch of countach in it..

but what is going on with this car?

Thats interesting.. I think THIS car is the best version of the Gallardo. It looks perfectly Lamborghini and has evolved fairly well. It does look better than the 430 (which looks like less of a Ferrari than this does a Lambo.) And why does it matter anyway, the Gallardo is a NEW car, not really in the need of bringing hints from the likes of the Countach or Diablo.. those were the benchmark cars.

All those matte colors are a nightmare to care for. And, in the old days, that stuff was totally free, and we used to call it 'primer' !!

Those are the Road & Track photos - stunning work as usual.

They raved about the car too - first drive. Can't wait for the real instrumented testing.

    I like it.

    A little off topic but.....

IMO, I think the F430 has much better styling ques than the Gallardo, although some might disagree...

The F430 has a 'piece' of 'racing' heritage some people might not know of.

The oval vents for example is from the Ferrari 156 F1, or some of you might know as the 'sharknose' F1 car...

Another example is the Enzo related tailights, yeah some people might not like it and stick with the 360 tailights.

And last but not least, the headlights...I see what Ferrari is trying to do, make the front of the car look more agressive and give it a little more style .

Anyway, I guess the point that I'm trying to make is that the 430 does NOT look like 'less' than a Ferrari, (and like what everyone else says) its a piece of handmade italian art that has stepped up from its predecessor the 360...

    just my $0.02...

I'm almost positive that the paint used top attain those matte colors is very well designed and the paint jobs are rather expensive. They aren't just using primer. They also aren't going to sell you a car with paint that is hard to care for.

Lamborghini doesn't offer it, but at one time, Reiter did offer a sort of GT3 upgrade. I believe the upgrade is the first 2 pictures in this link.

don't forget to add at least another 200 grand to the price of an Lp-560 for that Scuderia...

Hmm. Tests are showing that the Scuderia isn't much faster than the LP560, not to mention the price is ridiculous and the amenities are few.

WHY? Its like the difference between a virgin 19 year old and experianced 28 year old...

F-Car wines at the top of its lungs hoping for more while the L car passes nicely and gently storkes you for the most...

    NO comparission...

OPEN your EYES...get off of the F car band wagon...its about to die...

yes roy i guess it is dying, $100K over sticker for the scud hah, lambo will never have the resale value of a ferrari no matter what you say or what people to think. the LP560 you suggested on the other thread that was the only one in the country (wrong again) will be worth %20-%30% less in a year. look at what happened to the LP640, they cant give them away .

OPEN YOU EYES ROY, YOU ARE NOT FOOLING ANYONE.
