Excellent combo. I would consider that for sure.

Yes, they are...which sux big time :(:(

We managed to get the sill/lower intake off yesterday (Skydiver is a friend of mine) and it was GLUED
with a entire tube of glue  we had to bend the door sill to get access to the nuts.

So, Skydiver are now on the look for a pair of carbon sills :D:D:D

Has anyone tried a heat gun to help loosen glue on the sills? Does that help any?

We thought about that yesterday but decided not to, it's very tight in there and with a heat gun waving around you could
accidently toast some of the paint....or your eyebrows :D:D

I used a serrated blade to get mine off. It took some time and you have to be careful not to cut into the fiberglass but I was able to save my panels.

I love this thread! I hope to post similar pictures of my car when I get that far.

You never mentioned what process you used to get to the bare metal.

The paint is sanded off with an orbital sander & 80 grade discs as I won't use chemical strippers as they are highly corrossive and any residue needs to be washed off with water (not a good combination - Italian steel & water)
The satin black areas are all going to be sanded back, but I'm keeping the car in one piece whilst the panelbeating, filling & shaping is done to make sure the gaps & levels are all spot on. Then the doors, engine lid, boot & lamp assemblies will come off & final prep & prime.

    Coming along nicely Steve.

Did you spray the guide coat or use the dust on type guide? Looks like spray from the photos.

That front bar had seen better days.

Well, the rear bumper had similar issues to the front (but not as bad), and having seen the price of both bumpers new, Al thinks he should have quoted more :D
All of the 'odds & ends' are stripped, prepped (where necessary) and primed, such as the door intakes, side skirts, front lamp boxes, mirrors & rear panel.
The sanding down (final prep) of the main body is started as well.

Nice, I have that job coming up myself!

Dropped into a hole full of water, never saw it......cracked it pretty well!

You can see the crescent shapes on the bottom of the 355, that JRV used to make metal plates to fit, armored it up a little!

You are getting me the urge to get one of mine in for new paint, blue and red one both could use it.....although if I restore to original I'd end up with two blue cars! LOL! Still thinking that one thru..
