    I am looking for a pair of engine lid struts for my 1979 Ferrari 308 GFS.
    Would the above listed struts fit my car ?

    I'm currently rebuilding my 328 window mechanisms.
    Here's the Bosch part numbers for the motors:

    Left: 0 130 821 069
    Right: 0 130 821 070

    These are the same ones as the FIAT 131 Mirafiori

    I believe that they would fit. But check the length and end fittings before you buy them. Pep Boy might take them back if they are wrong and/or you do not mount them.

    You can look up parts by year, make, model, and engine at

    http://www.boschautoparts.com/Resources/VehiclePartFinder/

    (You can ignore the VIN drop-down)

    After "Locate Vehicle" you get a "Select Part" drop-down of parts types.
    Each selection gives cross references such as:
    (e.g. for "Fuel Injection" under '88 328GTS V8 3.2 GAS)

    Part Number Description
    0 438 120 164 Air Flow Sensor
    0 332 204 001 Combi-Relay
    0 280 170 401 Cold Start Valve
    0 438 170 004 Fuel Accumulator
    0 280 150 300 Frequency Valve
    0 280 800 068 ECU - New
    0 332 015 006 Main Relay
    0 332 019 151 Main Relay
    0 280 120 310 Throttle Switch
    0 438 140 132 Warm-Up Regulator - New

    The listings aren't entirely complete nor consistently incomplete.
    For example, here's the "Fuel Injection" list for an '88 Mondial (same engine):
    Part Number Description
    0 438 120 164 Air Flow Sensor 1/88 to 12/88;
    0 280 170 401 Cold Start Valve 1/88 to 12/88;
    0 438 170 004 Fuel Accumulator 1/88 to 12/88;
    0 280 800 068 ECU - New 1/88 to 12/88;
    0 332 204 001 Main Relay 1/88 to 12/88;
    0 280 120 310 Throttle Switch 1/88 to 12/88;
    0 280 130 217 Thermo-Time Switch 1/88 to 12/88;
    0 438 140 132 Warm-Up Regulator - New 1/88 to 12/88;

    I'd guess that's probably the same thermo-time switch used in the 328, but it's only listed under the Mondial.

    FWIW.

    I went to my local Napa to find the rear caliper rebuild kit using 1970-1976 Porsche 914/6 (GT Car parts accidentally sent me only the handbrake piece instead of both kits). The store says Napa no longer carries the kit nor are any available in their network.

    A local Foreign automotive place had a kit from VERA (31-07003)
    which had the ATI sticker 13.0441-4209.2
    I'll let you know if it works.

    An old ATI box I had is labeled 13.0441-3811.2

    Instead of the $23 for the 42mm bearing in the water pump I took my used to a bearing store 8/27/08 here's the prices

    SKF 6302 28S1/C3 $11.86 6302 is the size, 28S1 means it has 2 neoprene seals
    C3 is the inner tolerance This is original equiptment

    or

    NSK 6302 VVC3 VV means 2 neoprene seals made in US $12.13

    So get 2 water pump bearings for the f suppliers price of $24 each.

    Have to get the multi piece seal from a f parts supplier

    Don't pay appx $140 for rebuild kit from T Rutlands. Just purchase the other items you need

    I purchased a used Delorean seat belt receiver for my 1980 308GTBi for $32. It is about 4cm shorter but otherwise identical. There are several sources of new and used parts for Delorean cars. Delorean Motor Co, Texas, has complete new belt for $138. Ferrari used sources of hit/miss and quoted me $100 for the same part.

    Ferrari used two belt types (mondial et al)...squarish tang with square hole and Press button on wide flat of rectangular receiver. Mine has 'mushroom' shaped tang and Press button on edge of trapezoidal receiver.
