I have come to realize my obsession of the 355. I always find myself spending countless hours reading, and steering at pictures of 355s all over the web. Regardless of what cars have came and gone, and what new ones have been created I still have always loved the 355 since I first saw a picture of it. I have been a passanger in my buddies 355s but I have never driven one. I am hoping by the time I am 30, I will have the pleasure of owning the true ferrari legend. Hopefully, when the time comes that I am ready to make my purchase, the fchat community can help me make my dream a reality! Until then, I will contine drolling over pictures and stories of 355s and continue driving my nsx until the wheels fall off!!

haha, thanks! I have actually been drooling over your pictures already! Great collection you have. I cannot tell you how many times I have gone through page after page of the 355 showroom sticky. Great color I might add. would look great in my garage ;) A good friend of mine actually owns a 355 97'B. in that same color combo. I am torn between ferrari red or yellow. I have a many years until I am ready to purchase though.

Enjoy your beauty in good health!

    Please keep the pictures coming!

I think it is the best Ferrari right now for value......classic/modern looks, performance, sound and overall fun factor. However, when the time is right I will try a 360/430 it is a progression of technology...:D

Good luck searching for one....you will not regret owning it!!

When I first saw the 360, I loved it! Since the 430 came out, I do not like the 360 anymore. Idk why, but the front end I don't like.

Best of luck when it comes time for you to find your 360/430 though.

My reality of a ferrari collection would have to be a 512 TR, 308/328, 355, and 430. Oviously, a dream collection would include those and a F40.

I was the same way but after owning one for nearly a year and using it as a daily driver, it's lost alot of what made it special to me.

Obsessing over one is alot more fun than owning one.

Kind of like girls, they're fun to chase but a PITA once you catch them.

The best path to Ferrari ownership is to spend moderately on your other ride. At one point I had a Porsche and a BMW in the garage, and I realized I'd never get to own an exotic if I allocated my car money that way.

The other point is that prices are still settling, so time is kind of on your side in terms of saving up.

I think this is why it's not necessarily the best idea to use your Ferrari as a daily driver. I take mine out once or twice a week, and it's no less awesome today than it was a few years ago. It was my dream car back in the '80s, and ... it still is.

I think you're right, the last month I've been using it 2-3 days a week as opposed to everyday and it has become more exciting, but I've never been able to recreate the passion I had for the car before I owned it. Maybe I'm just not enthusiastic enough. I still love it more than any other car!

yeah, I feel the same way at times. I have loved the NSX since I saw it in 91', I loved it even more when my father had one in 97'. After owning my 98'nsx-t for 4 years, I find myself trying my best not to drive it so I can build up the desire and anticipation. Driving it every day, or hear and there, to the store, etc...kills it for me.

Unfortunately, its human nature. We always want something else, something what we think is better....you get the newest car, when the next newest best thing comes out we will trade up for it. You wake up next to a beautiful lady every day...maybe one day you'll start thinking about someone else.

I was just like you. I've drooled over the 355 for years before I finally pulled the trigger. Had both the NSX and the 355. Different cars but the NSX just didn't stir the flames like the Ferrari did. Great car but just wasn't as exciting and NOTHING sounds like a 355. Having said that, I spent less on maintaining two different NSX's over 10 years than I have in a three years of 355 ownership. But even the three years of 355 ownership was less than a single year of the Van Dieman. Just a matter of perspective ;-)

There just isn't anything to compare to the 355.

I purchased my nsx with cash 4 years ago. I am hoping to add a 355 to my garage in the next 5-8 years and still keep my nsx. That's ofcourse If i am still single and no kids....time will tell!

Single and no kids= 355 next to your NSX

Married... with children= 355 instead of your NSX.
