Because of the joys of vista it was a bit of a pain but Im sure the same could be done on a mac. I'll send you the sound file if you want to try it, and the pic if you want.
Unfortunately the Mac start up bong cannot be changed, only the volume can be toyed with. The sound is made to let you know the hardware is 'good' and if memory serves me correct it (the sound) is stored in the firmware, not on the hard drive. I like the idea, now just modify your power button to a red ENGINE START button.
hmmmm my vista box has the Windows 95 chimes in it. It is only funny to the geeks who remember and loathed it back then.
Why not? It's not the firmware boot "bong" we're messing with, but rather what happens when you login - And that's pretty much up to you..... [Remember when we all had message-of-the-day put up some "words of wisdom" at initial login?] Cheers, Ian
