I'm ready to do the 30K service on my 1995 355. I've decided to change the belts, tensioner bearings and clutch myself. I already have the QV headers installed but figured I might as well replace the valve guides with the steel ones. Is there a decent shop that will just rebuild my heads (without doing the complete 30K service)?

It might help to know where you are. Please take a moment to fill out your profile so that we can better assist you.

Well, as I think you already know, the heads cannot be done with the engine in the car. So if you want to send the heads out to be done by a machinist -- sure, he will just do your heads. That's what machine shops do -- they do engines and head jobs especially. But you will have to complete the major ("30K") service yourself while the engine is out because that service must be performed if the engine is out of the car. You will have to re-charge the air conditioning, replace all fluids, seals, gaskets, etc., etc.
