    Hi Raymond,

The car with Patrick is a Swiss version, see front indicator...

I'm not sure if that's the same car as 12470 (picture sent by Joe) though..

That cat seems to have a light tan/cream interior (sand),
while the car with Patrick has a white interior.
Very hard to tell for sure, but to me it looks that way.

    Best regards,
    Marcel

The car on the picture is not 470, it's just another car they got from importer Codeco for this picture.

    Right!

I think that I have seen that silver/blue car with M.B Sport Car stickers and side skirts in Monaco in 1984.
At that time it had no skirts and not big stickers, but it had a little Lamborghini Suisse S.A. sticker on the rear.
Very likely it's the same car? So could this also be #1121444 Raymond?

It had different mirrors when it had the BL 232 U plates.

Also note the non Swiss front light indicators..

Also look at the gap between the front hood and bumper (more cars had that by the way)

    Ciao!
    Marcel

Looks like the car owned by Stephane Ratel in the mid-80s. I will have to show him these pics and see if he can remember.

Any yes, many Countach have that gap between front hood lid and bumper...

Do you have the chassis numbers for either of those cars? The red Contach looks a lot like one that appeared in some car magazine or other I have around hear somewhere during the eighties. I've always wanted to know which car it was. And which member of ABBA owned the Countach and when?

Hi Glen, the bordeaux red Countach is #CLA12484.
About the ABBA connection, there is no confirmation yet.
It could also been the founder of IKEA or WASA Knäckebröt as far as I'm concerned.

I would not write such things on the ILR unless it is 100% sure.

Keep up the good work Glen!

    Need any more pictures?

    Ciao!

Thanks. But you know, marking recording the rumors (as rumors) on certain car's pages has brought back memories for many people who have then contacted us with information and photos to fill in the blanks. But I'll hold off for now. Let me know if you learn anything further.

Other than Rod Stewart, Barry Gibb and Eddie Van Halen its hard to pin down any really famous Countach Rockstar owners. Stewart owned 6 from 1978 to 1990 by my count...

And don't forget Eddie Murphy, IF you want to include his venture into pop music making him a "Rock Star." He owned a Countach. And you forgot Sammy Hagar. DEFFINITELY a Rock Star! Not sure if Wayne Newton qualifies...

    Glen:

Wayne Newton bought Oleg "The Mountain Man" Stavrowsky's LP400 Periscopa after it was repaired (he hit a wolf at 100mph whilst on a run crossing New Mexico on the way to Wallace in Arizona).

Sammy Hagar simply used Eddie Van Halen's LP400S according to the man who serviced their cars (Hagar had Ferraris)

Eddie Murphy has been said to own a Countach and Ive seen a chassis number noted, but, I have never seen any first-hand recounting, image or sighting of same. Anybody have anything?

Sammy I have noted as having an LP400S1 but no chassis number and no solid proof of either.

The founder/owner of Ikea lives in Switzerland, from an interview he sounded like a very down to earth person with no attitude for exotic cars.
