I think it's just your wife....

I could be wrong but, it's not healthy to look over 4,000 paint samples...

Why so specific? Don't you mean to say "Don't ever make decisions with your wife!"??

There is no escape from picking out paint. At this point, your only way out is faking your own death. Good luck!

Her Royal Highness insists that towels be selected before paint color. Total impasse, my house has been mostly finished for 4 years, most walls are primered.

Guys. Please. Paint is the cheapest, easiest thing a woman can pick out. Count your blessings.

You might seriously wanna consider hiring a "color specialist" to help her out. If she can't pull the trigger on a color it could be hell for you, even more than what your experiencing now. Imagine 6 months from now when she gets upset because she didn't pick the right color. Save yourself and hire someone to give her advice, now.

+1 (Around here it is $75.00 per hour for the color consultation)

Or do what I do and take the fabric/towel to the paint store and have them match it with a custom paint color.

Wives HAVE TO know what an odious experience this is for their husbands, so I have to assume that they do it on purpose, just to make up for them having to listen to that awful "vroom-vroom" noise that comes from the TV on Sundays.

I got off easy last time.. the designer picked it out all wall colors. Well worth it..

Previous to that, she had a half-painted wall in the bathroom (with roller and can standing by) for over four years while she tried to figure out what color she really wanted.

I hear ya. We just bought an old house that needed a new kitchen and bathroom. Lots of late nights at Lowes and Home Depot. Everything was selected and decided upon from a new floor plan, cabinets (color, material, style, drawer pulls, etc), counter tops (material, color, edging, etc), sinks, faucets, flooring, tile backsplash, light fixtures, bulb type, wall switch plates, light switch and receptacle color, toilet (color, style, lid type, flushing efficiency, etc), tub (color, 17" deep), sink vanity (style, matching color), exhaust fans, etc, etc, etc.

Literally every single item had to be considered. But on the bright side every wall in every room, ceiling included will be basic white. Except the bathroom which is colonial white.

I almost forgot, every sub-contractor damaged something during installation and 2 of the 4 Electrolux kitchen appliances were broken right out of the box.

The over-sized 2.5 car garage out back? It's all mine :D

Funny thing, in my house it's the opposite. I usually do the paint color picking. My wife doesn't have the best sense of style :)

I think this is a good suggestion, I tried chewing off my own arm last night, to get away, but it did not work! We went to the Home Depot and looked at paint for two hours, then to Lowe's for another hour and a half, then back to Home Depot for another hour, and we bought $210.00 worth of sample colors.

Plus, you just cant paint...............oh NO! You have to have the primer, the gripper, the raw wall primer, the tint, the semi gloss, the satin.................do you realize how boring and dull paint is?

I started wondering if throwing myself off a building would be better................
