    correct, here it is: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=129254&page=78
the car is almost ready, will post pics when ready. The car has its original leather in perfect condition but the previous owner renewed the mousehair with a to dark one which I don't like, he kept the original mousehair in a box and I whashed it in my badtub :) and its almost like new so I will put this back in the car to keep it as original as possible. I have to wait for this because the man who is going to fix this (HVL) is very busy but he is simplley the best so I have to be paitient :-( the car has original 16.000km, actually it needed nothing but a good polish, anyway now it will be 100% new when ready!

Wow, so there are both a Miura SV and LP400 in the Netherlands, nice. The red/gold Miura is also my favourite color combination for the SV. The old Milano license plates are a very nice touch, but I cannot imagine it is legal to have them on your car in the Netherlands? Marcel, do you never take your cars to Lamborghini events or carshows?

its not legal but just looks so good ;-) the car never had another registration and i like to keep it like this i like the italian papers with the car (first registration from 7-72!). When I drive it i use dealerplates. From time to time I go to a meeting but last 3-4 years I had a too busy life (unfortunally...)

Thanks Philippe, that is 3610 from the around 2004 when it was for sale at Steve Harris (sp?) in Utah. I have a couple of photos from then but I did not have these photos. Any chance you have any more / higher resolution pictures you could send me?

    Cheers Jim

Seriously guys I'm in need of a good quality photograph of the above item - mine went missing sometime in the last 21 years of a rather protracted restoration.

Still as nothing else was lost I should think myself lucky.

Mines a euro P400 if that helps - and I've no idea if the ashtray remained the same during the Miura build years.

    But I bet someone does!

Again does anyone have any idea if the astray was sourced from another motor or alternatively would anyone have a spare - if memory serves the ashtray was quite a narrow thing & pretty much unusable anyway.

BTW - all UK cars over 3 years old (or 4 in the remote highlands of Scotland!) need an annual roadworthiness certificate - the "M.O.T." test - Mine just pased it's first ever on Thursday just 3 months short of it's 41st birthday. And its been in the country for at least 22 years!!

I'm road legal 4 the first time in a bloody quarter of a century - very large bottle of very strong scotch currently being partaken of as a way of celebration.

    bax.

    Will these photos work?

Congratulations on the M.O.T. certificate, definitely a cause for celebration.

I think Marcel was aiming for an SV in the same classic livery as presented by the factory on its official literature (sales brochure, owners manual etc), and as chosen by Ferruccio Lamborghini himself :)

A photographic study of the miura ashtray - trully a niche interest if ever there was one! I really must get out more.

Excellent photographs & far better than I could have hoped for - thank-you indeed Jim.

Question still stands if anyone knows whence the ashtray came or if a spare known of.

Still it looks fabricatable from the shots provided.

    Slainte mhath!

It is indeed an interesting topic and the P400 have the best-sized ashtrays, positioned as conspicuously as they are directly 'twixt shift lever and handbrake from an era when the men (and some women) who owned these cars were actually expected to smoke in the car!

Examining the lid's engraving pattern, the unit looks to be identical to that supplied to Maserati and Ferrari of the era, except in this case, Lamborghini continued its the state-of-the-art novelty in the automotive world of painting it black (as they did for much of the trim on the P400 from headlight bezels to windscreen surrounds to interior trim).

By the time of the P400S and SV, a much slimmer unit had been appointed, located at the head of the locking glove box.

In a search for one, expect an answer along the lines of: "OH, we haven't seen one of those in 30 years!!"

This is the MOST under-rated Miura web site for those of us interested in Miura details. Craig posts here occassionally. Craig, if you are out there, take a bow. You deserve a lot of credit for putting this together. Not sure if Craig's got ash tray details in the web site, but if not I'd be surprised.

Too true Emilio. When considering a near-perfect 30 year old iconic Lamborghini, forget what livery it is. I love those who say: "Im going to wait till I find one in xyz color with xyz trim, and then I will give it consideration :)
