Can you believe this???

Today I was driving the yellow Esprit and I got pulled over by the Police on St Kilda Rd near the city. These were unmarked, non uniformed, Crime Squad police, not traffic cops.
They sternly told me to get out of the car and they spoke to me like ****. They strip searched me on the side of the road and searched the car in and out.

Their reason - I fit the profile of a drug dealer!!! WTF???

At the start, I told them that without a warrant, they cannot search me or the car. They said that if I refuse, they will arrest me. Of course, they have found absolutely nothing in the car or on my person as I am as much against drugs as you can get. I don't even smoke or drink.

When I asked them if I look like a drug dealer, they said that there's drug dealers that look better than me and drive better cars, but either way I fit the profile, so that justifies their actions.

I told them that I will take action against them for harrasment. They laughed.

When I was body searched, the cop kneeled down to check my ankles. At the same time I bent backwards to zip up the jeans pocket he unzipped. My elbow touched his head. He jumped up screaming if I am trying to hit him?! I told him that he's imagining things, and he said that if I proceed with the harrasment charges, he will proceed with assault charges.

Someone explain to me how the cops can do something like this? I have never had anything to do with drugs. I don't associate with anyone that is even remotely involved in drugs or any other illegal activity. So, the only reason for them to do what they did, was seeing my car on the road?

What can I do? I cannot believe that something like this can be legal. I mean what kind of society do we live in? What if a business associate would have driven past and seen me on the side of St Kilda Rd with my arms up in the air searched by cops?

BTW, both of them had Mont Blanc pens in their breast pockets. Since when can cops afford that? I actually asked them that and they laughed saying they didn't pay for them.

So what action can I take?

Why, are they too dumb to know that extasy means ultimate pleasure?

 

I do have all their details. They were more than happy to provide them, including business cards.

Did they break any laws/guidelines/etc?

 

Throughout the whole thing I was constantly concious that they would be either filming this or recording the audio or both, so I made sure that all my actions and words were correct.

BTW, at the end, they said - 'We followed you around for a while. Nice to see a car like this driven like it should be'
