Cars & Coffee, Sunday morning 7/13, Attleboro MA - meet for a drive down?

Sunday, July 13th - "Rise & Shine Cruise–in: Shine Them Up and Show Them Off", Sunday Mornings, Beginning July 13th, 7:00-9:00 AM

Howdy, folks. Spent the day yesterday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, at one of 6th Gear's spectacular track days. As some of you may know, 6th Gear is an upscale track day organizer that offers more track time than club days, full white glove service: technicians from Ferrari of New England, drinks, meals and snacks, trackside photos and in-car videos, Spec Miata rentals, skid pad training, and even a masseuse! 6th Gear is run by our own Bruce Ledoux and Dave Ellard. Always a memorable time, with cool cars and great guys and gals. Yesterday was no exception, as we had Suzy Hiniker kicking butt out there in her silver 360 Challenge, a vicious Maserati Grandsport, lots of Porsches, Loti and Corvettes, and a few Lambos, Nobles, and more. My wife was giving rides in her 355 Challenge, and Bruce was scaring the bejezus out of folks in his 911 Cup car.

I bring this up because Dave Ellard, a fabulous guy (and former CIO of EMC) has just opened a new business that allows him to indulge in his love for cars: Triple Play, in Attleboro, Massachusetts. It's a one-stop shop for motorists on the run.

In just a few months, it's now the highest-volume Mobil gas station in New England (cheap gas), with a large convenience store, sandwich shop and Dunkin' Donuts attached. It's also a Valvoline quick change. And a fully automated carwash - with both a 24/7 touchless tunnel and a more thorough regular tunnel, AND a multi-lane detailing bay. One can fill up on gas, have a cup of coffee and a donut, stock up on soda, beer, chips and sandwiches, get an oil change and have your car detailed, all at once.

And Dave is now hosting a casual Sunday Morning cruise-in, starting at 7 am. Come on down, enjoy the ride, and hang out for a bit!

I've heard of nothing but good things about Bruce from my friend, Mike, of Michael's Motorsports. I'm always looking for a place to pamper the car, but most importantly, meet new people. I look forward to getting more folks to check out Dave's new Mobil "megaplex." I'll see you at the Wellesley stop at 7:15 AM for the drive down.

I may come along for this in my 360 spider. I write patents for EMC so how can I refuse. 7 AM is real early - I have a holdem tournament tonight. If I'm not there it's because I did well and made it late in the game.

Hey, GREAT to see and meet everyone today! Fun little drive down I-95 together (my daughters in the back of the 911 were screaming, "go faster daddy, faster!!!"). A nice, casual Sunday morning sipping coffee, eatin' donuts, checkin' out cars and chatting with friends, old and new. Thanks to all who came!

Is this going to be a weekly thing? How many cars showed up - I will try to make next time.

 

That was fun: this crowd does know how to use the right pedal. 2 Lotus, 2 360 cs, 1 360, an older Ferrari coupe, a 996, a 993tt, my 928 P, 2 355's, and some american iron down there. We watched some track day video while we were there also.
Dave is a great guy, great place too.
A bunch of us then cruised up to FONE to ogle the goods there, and later Will stopped by my place while I was doing some wrenching on another 928. I have Beer, coffee, and tools.

Definately a fun time today. Attleboro is a far drive for me but I'm going to try to make it a few more times this summer.

 

Is it going to be weekly? Sorry I missed it.

I have an inspection for Monday to get ready for so couldn't make it.

The event is indeed a weekly thing; this past weekend was the first. I think Dave intends to get a wide variety of cars there, including muscle cars, hot rods, antiques, etc. I'll be away this coming Sunday, but will hopefully make future runs - must admit, this is the first time I've done the Sunday morning drive thing with my daughters, and they had a blast, so we'll repeat!
