Walter Wolf's LP400S 1121002 was actually the first production LP400S Series 1 (the 151st Countach built), finished March the 13th 1978 in time for the Geneva Salon. Blu Speciale/Naturale.

However, because of the special work carried out it was not the first to be finished.

1121006 was actually the first production LP400S finished and was delivered to Willemin Geneva for a Middle Eastern client. It was finished on January the 13th 1978....Blu Acapulco metallizzato/Naturale.

Sheikh Althani got the next one...

My Friend has that car. When you say the "next one" then I assume it is 1121004 not 1121008 since we got some disorder in the vin sequence. We know 004 went to Arabia. About last years we were wondering which was the 1st 400S 004 or 006. that answers it

    Emilio: it is Peter's car.

Yes Peter Karam has 1006 today.

    1002 Blu Special/Naturale - Wolf.

    1004 Rosso Siviglia/Tabacco - Achili.

    1006 Blu Acapulco metallizzato/Naturale - Willemin.

    1008 Nero metallizzato/Nero - Massih Jounlaf

    1010 Nero/Champagne - Willemin/Sheikh Althani.

Althani's car was finished next after 1006, on April 3rd 1978. 1004 was not finished till April 5th.

the color looks very different from the acapulco blue as in Ralf's car
so or the car was painted in a different blue or it has been repainted

#CLA12484 is in the mag. Automobil #1 Feb. -87, according to the article in the mag. the paint jobb was done by Walter Maurer at a cost of 30K Deutsch Mark, same amount was spent on the interior. This car was for sale when they wrote the article, but there is nothing about how owned this car in the late eightes. Walter Maurer is known of his paint jobs on BMW race cars, for exampel the Andy Warhol M1.

1121028 was the only S1 painted in "Blu Notte metallizzato" with a Bianco interior. Sadly, this one-off color has now been replaced with red. Completed October 26th, delivered November 10th of 1978.

The very first production car as 1120002 was completed on the 8th of April 1974. It was shot by Zagari in the famous Bologna airport scene for the sales brochure and in front of the factory for the owners manual. It was then dispatched to Achilli Motors of Milan for their special customer one S. Antonio.

The next car was not ready for another month!

I just noticed that this car was hurriedly posed for this photo-shoot right out of the paint booth (practically before the paint had cured!). Im suggesting this because if you look at the car's sill, you can see that the satin blackout that was always applied along the base seam over the rivets hasnt yet been applied!

The car shown in the sales brochure certainly is not 1120002. 1120002 had "naturale" interior, the car in the sales brochure had "tabacco" interior.

But isn't that photo from the brochure? Keep in mind that it could appear faded on screen, plus you also have the reflections from the glass that could alter the color further at this angle.

Yes, that photo is the photo from the brochure. But the car from the photo is not 1120002.

    Joe,

in this case: yes!!! Here, I am sure, and when I say I'm sure... you know.

    1120002 giallo fly / naturale
    1120004 rosso / nero

... we had both cars earlier in this thread, I suppose. At least, we saw 1120004 here in this thread. 1120002 and 1120004 have different headrests than the serial car (identical in both cars).

Look at the 1/43 Minichamps LP400 model: look exactly at the seats. This model has the same headrests as 1120002 and 1120004.

I must admit that I did not have an eye for that detail on the Minichamps model - it was Fchatter Graphicar who discovered that... or was it Fchatter Posteriore140 ... I do not remember exactly. Anyway, it was one of these two specialists who had such a good eye for the model.

    Very best

    C.

Thank you for the copyright! If you remeber we talked about the 1120002 headrests one year ago at Bruno's workshop...

Hi guys. Just wondering, since this is the Countach thread, if any of you know the serial number start number for the anniversary? IE, what number did they start at? Was it KLA120001 and so on?
    Interested to hear your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Jeff
