Fess up you arrogant rich competitive Ferrari enthusiasts! What users made the list? http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2008/moneymag/0807/gallery.bplive_topearners.moneymag/index.html 12. Southlake, TX Population: 25,748 Median family income: $166,878 Median home price: $542,640
1. New Canaan, CT Population: 19,690 Median family income: $231,138 Median home price: $1,465,000 [/dream sequence] (I didn't even rate. )
That median home price would buy you an average home in the valley here in LA. I used to date a girl from Southlake back in the late 80s early 90s. Her family owned a daycare center near the middle of town. Right next to a BBQ I believe. There was hardly anything out there back then.
yep, nothing really started until the mid-90's. city completely changed from life time residents on small farms to large new homes on 1-2 acre lots. Jennie and I were attracted to it for the same reason as everyone else, few places within commute of both Dallas and Ft. Worth that you can buy a home on a large lot. Helps the public school is highly rated and football team (which I give rats ass about) has been ranked #1 in nation for several of the past years. Most of Texas is a great value for real estate, one reason we haven't been hit as hard by the crash. Southlake real estate has actually appreciated each of last 2 years. Check out how much home you get for the money down from me... http://estesparkestates.idxco.com/idx/2608/photoGallery.php?idxID=074&listingID=10898446
We've had a number of Ferrari events take place in this plaza: http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2008/moneymag/0807/gallery.bplive_topearners.moneymag/3.html
My whole state is absent from that list...gotta love Mizzourah. I went to college in Wellesley, MA (#9)...does that count? And no, I didn't go to Wellesley College...
My sister lives here... 11. Bethesda, MD Population: 59,066 Median family income: $167,043 Median home price: $758,000 I grew up here... 16. Manhattan Beach, CA Population: 36,665 Median family income: $151,258 Median home price: $1,625,000 With all that said and done, I have to agree w/ Rob Lay... Texas is where it's at, period!
Didn't make top 25 on that list (we usually do). But we are #8 on the "Best Places To Live" list (which is probably more important)!
Looking at pictures of some of these towns makes me want to get out and travel some more. I have been to Cali (don't like, too much traffic) texas, idaho, wyoming, new mexico, arizona, oklahoma, colorado, and some others that I cannot think of right now. I really didnt like any of them. Chicago was one of my favorites. Whats it like in CT? How are the ladies?
Darien, CT. is #2 on the list. That's my hometown !!! Oh, and my bank (Darien-Rowayton Bank) has their headquarters right in the heart of downtown Darien !!
