    Diecast 1:18 online store recommendations?

    Hey guys!

After looking at everyone awesome pictures and display cases of their diecasts, I would like to start collecting myself!!

can anyone please recommend their favorate online vendor and favorate Diecast maker?

What is the average price for Ferrari Diecasts 1:18 by hot wheels?

On ebay, FXX/F50s shipped are going for $74. How does that compare?

    thanks!!

Scale really depends on the size of the real car.
If its a 1:18, then that means if it was 18 times bigger you would have the actual length of the car...1:43 the same...43 times smaller if its the toy..

I would say I like Hot Wheels the best only because of the selection and your looking at around $60.00 for a Elite 1:18 Ferrari HW's.

I would also say find your favorite castings not companies.

my favourite maker's are kyosho autoart minichamps bbr exoto. we have many good reliable stores in canada, toronto motorsports, scale 18, the collector studio, prestige, pit lane, there are some others to, so we are lucky. i collect mainly 1:18, not a real fan of 1:43, just to small for me. also have 9 1:12.

Let's meet in the middle and say 4" lol.

I have some around 3" and some over 5". Depends on the car....

I have seen many great companies suggested. It would be great to have the luxery of spending $300 on a diecast model, but at 22 and having different priorities, I will start my collection with Hot Wheels.

thanks for everyone advice and suggestions!

1:18 FXX hot wheel for $74 shipped. What would you rate that price for this particular make/model and being hot wheels?

If you are going to buy the ENTRY level of diecast, Go with the Hot Wheels. I really never cared to much for the Maisto stuff when I started collecting. Hot Wheels has a wider variety to choose from as well. At the time I started collecting, I prefered at the time to buy Burago. But at that time I was not really much of a collector of diecast either. That another story!

If you are going for a MID level of diecast, Go with Kyosho over the Mattel/Hot Wheels Elite line if they are both putting out the same Ferrari Model.

For the HIGHER level of diecast, I would also prefer to buy the Kyosho over the Mattel/Hot Wheels Super Elite line if they are both putting out the same line.
But I would definately buy BBR, CMC, Exoto for Ferrari Diecast. I also like AUTOart for other 1:18's that I occasionally purchase.

The main difference between Regular Hotwheels and the Elites are probably interior detail, engine detail, and probably some better paint.
I could not reccomend Speedgear more. They have great service, great products, and usually great prices.
    Thanks

Maisto is pretty much on the bottom of the list for me as far as the low end 1:18's. I would just get the Elites from Hot Wheels for each of the cars you mentioned. I'm sure he will be happy...
You can expect each car to be around $45.00-$65.00 USD. I would look on ebay first.

Btw, I think Bburago is better then Maisto as well.
    :)

I just purchased from an ebay seller 5 1:18 Diecasts Hot Wheels.
F40 Red, F50 Red, FXX Elite Hot Wheels Yellow, FXX Elite Hot Wheels Red, and F430 Scuderia Red.

I am hoping the exterior paint is the same between the elite and regular model. only difference is added "detail" to interior and engine bay.

    thanks for your help!
