The car seems to be well kept. I love the fact that it doesn't have additional side marker lights. I don't go for the tinted windows though. And I would replace the carpets with red cavs with tan or gold cavs.
This is what I have on it: Delivered in Germany and imported to US in 1982, 1997 for sale Motor Classic (NY), 5/07 for sale Ebay (CT) same owner since 1997, 119km, new interior in 2000,

thanks for the links guys. i'm kinda bummed out by the gold, but with that interior you'd have have a wide variety of repaint colour choices.
If I recall correctly: the starting bid was $31K - there were no bids. I'm sure Dave can clarify. Regards, Art S.
Dave, It depends on condition. The interior is nice but how is the rest of the car? Does anyone know any more than what the owner posted in the listing? Regards, Art S.
I seem to remember that when this car was on sale last year it may have needed a new exhaust system. Aidan
LOL You in the market for another Fcar? Might as well its a rare bird in North America. There were only 31 brought to this continent. 15% (5) of those haven't been registered or titled in the past 20 years.
Aidan, I checked, it still does need an exhaust (apparently it is still the original unit!), thus the price reduction from the previous listing. The car was described as being well maintained. If I have a chance, I hope to go and check on my car this weekend. If I do, I will try to coordinate a look at the 365. Personally, I'm curious if there is any hidden rust and what condition the engine is in (I'm a bit gun-shy considering my recent engine experience...). If I get to check it out, I'll report back to the group. Regards, Art S.
LOL, Don't get me wrong, I believe these are the sleepers and would like/love to acquire one right, now. My 'too high' comment was that I thought you were saying they were over priced. Good to know I wasn't off at all. However, not my color. Typical Ferrari snob am I...now if more blue or silver, then bingo. Matter of fact: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137875269&postcount=7
forgive me, but i'm confused by this post ? who in the thread did you think was saying this car was overpriced ? it was you who asked if it was "too high". actually, you're the only one in the thread talking about the current price. ... and you didn't offer an opinion/number regarding the price so what do you mean when you say..." good to know i wasn't off at all" ? off what ? ... and what point is the link reinforcing again ?
i saw that same, or very similar 'puke gold' several yrs ago in an ad for a 308GTS, looked just as gawd awful then as this one does now.
Sold - $29,234. Not a bad price if the PPI checked out and the only thing the car needed was an exhaust. I had hoped to visit the car over the weekend but other obligations got in the way. Regards, Art S.
if it checks out okay then it is a sh!tload of car for that money. i think the colour and the window tint worked against the sale price. they are such fabulous cars and it just blows me away that they are so undervalued. a 100K more for a mechanically identical (almost), yet way less practical C4. you could certainly make the beauty argument, but a 400 in motion is really, really stunning. i refuse to believe that anyone walks away disappointed after driving a good example of a 365GT4 2+2/400. i've yet to sample a 400i, but the '82 5 speed will be ready in the early fall and the 365GT4 a little later so i'll be fully qualified to make comparisons across the full range. my ongoing infatuation with my carbed 400a is already well documented. the funny part is i found the 412 to be the least inspiring of the lot. maybe it was just a little too 'modern'. i found that it really missed the 'vintage' feel of the earlier cars in the series.
car was not original...respray color (originally silver - who thought gold was a good color???), redone interior (nice though), rust around window, trunk lid did not fit quite right, exhaust system shot ($4k at minimum), on service intervals seller said he had it checked annually and replaced what was needed and did not know about the belts or major (have to assume it needs a major), tint on windows because AC "doesn't work well". Agree that the model is undervalued with a very good one without these issues selling in only the mid $30's. Am afraid that the buyer will be well in excess of the value of the car after it is all done. Hope it was an emotional purchase; if so, a good buy
