just watched the last concert they did in London in 1994 on DVD, blew the dust out of the joists too! So, as they will never play again who has taken their place? Is there a modern version out there?

I wish they would do another just one. Just a few years before my time. Dark Side of the Moon is one of my favourite albums.

Brings back some very good memories as a youngster......... :D

If you want crazy lighting and effects at live shows, Muse are the modern PF imo... for a mainstream band, Muse's music is pretty progressive as well.

For me, nothing tops Gilmour's Comfortably Numb solo on that DVD.

Pink Floyd are my favourite band of all time - their music is timeless, IMO. That Pulse concert they did in London in 1994 would have been a mind-blowing experience, what with the laser lighting et al. Roger Waters still tours (he recently played a couple of gigs in the uS and Europe). And I think David Gilmour does concerts here and there in the UK. I saw Roger Waters in Sydney on his Dark Side of the Moon tour during late 2006 and the group he had assembled were ultra-professional. I hope Floyd reform to do a few final concerts again one day. There was a rumour that they might do a one-off tour with Led Zeppelin, but don't hold your breath. We must remember that group members of Pink Floyd are now in their early to mid-sixties. I'd love to own just a few of Pink Floy drummer Nick Mason's exotic car collection.

Very interesting, albeit, very long (have to agree with Aircon) article.

Vindicates two of my very favourite passions: Pink Floyd and Ferrari.

Then again - I also like the Pet Shop Boys and Jags (Duh !!!)

I was lucky enough to see them at the L.A sports arena playing "The WALL".
Also I was lucky enough to be taken to "Producers Workshop" where they were recording
    the album "THE WALL"

Always loved pink floyd. Wish they had of asked me to join the band.

They would have if they didn't have Nick Mason.

At least you and Nick share some great commonalities - drum kits and Ferraris.

Ain't gonna happen with the original lineup as the Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright passed away in September 2008.

In the weekend's papers - The Wall with Roger waters is coming to Australia in February 2012. Tickets on sale soon. Sidenee gig is at the Acer Arena. Expect inflated ticket prices as they were in the USA.

I saw it at MSG in New York. It was a bit of a disappointment - after all, we fans know the album too well, and it was just like putting on the CD. A better idea would have been a Roger Waters concert with some Floyd and some solo stuff.

Yeah, I saw Roger Waters in concert at Acer Areana in 2008 where he did the entire Dark Side of the Moon album and it was awesome.
