A head to head that I know of is, Top Gear's Star in a reasonably priced car.

    1:44.4 – The Stig (II)
    1:44.6 – Nigel Mansell[2]
    1:44.7 – Jenson Button[2]
    1:44.7 - Lewis Hamilton[2][3]
    1:46.0 – The Stig (I)
    1:46.3 – Damon Hill[2]

    (2) means F1 driver (3) means wet and oil, so in theory Lewis is faster....:)

I could have said Honda also, but I am guessing Toyota. Mid season press releases and that link to www.f1gpsg are really meaningless. Talk is cheap, until the fat lady sings. That means contracts are in place and there is formal announcements, which won't happen until the time around Monza.

Why did I say this? Had too many margaritas last night.

    Actually, anything is possible.

I do now believe there is a distinct possibilty that Alonso will go to Ferrari as early as 2009 and not cost Ferrari a single cent. I believe that Kimi will race one more year with Ferrari, retire in 2010. So if Fernando joins Ferrari in 2009 that punts Massa, sadly as he has really been there for the Scuderia. But a two time WDC for free motivates Luca, and Luca has no conscience. Toyota needs a really quick driver and if Massa wins the 2008 WDC, that brings a lot of prestige to Toyota. He would pair up with Trulli.

I also like Toyota, and I like Massa, and I like Trulli, so that may be my new team. At least I can keep the plain red shirts.

Although I also believe there will be issues between Raikkonen and Alonso by mid season, Luca will have told Alonso to play team or he will be terminated. When Kimi retires, the only multiple WDC is Alonso, Luca wants that for a driver. I really hate to suggest this, but money talks, the hell with image. Alonso also knows that he will only have to tolerate Raikkonen for one year, then its would become "his team". And it would not be Kubica as a teammate. I am not even sure about Vettel, his ties to Schumacher are too strong, and there continues to be friction between MS and FA.

The question for me still is with the new rules in 2009, which team will really be up front? It actually could be Toyota, or Honda. Having a good qualifier like Massa would improve their chances for podiums. Unless it was a one time offer to join Ferrari, if I were Alonso, I would wait until the end of 2009 to see which team makes the best of the new rules.

Those were really good margaritas. I could be wrong, and go with the other rumor, that Ferrari will hire Ralf Schumacher and Sato as drivers in 2010.

So you admit that you are making statements and you don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. Its typical. Now I know to avoid all of your post. Thank you for the insight.

I pointed out the only comparison I could think of, between LH and JB, was driving the same car around the same track, Both have done laps around the track in the Suzuki Liana. What is it you dont understand, I said I'am not 100% it was the EXACT same car but it was A Suzuki Liana, now if you take into consideration Top Gear hosts estimate a wet track as yielding an average time four seconds slower than a dry track surface. "Moist" and "very wet" can be estimated accordingly, you have your answer.

But Unfortunately, I fear no matter what I post makes any difference, as your contributions on here appear to have only one theme, LH bashing.

Both LH and HK have said they have sorted through the chassis problem ( which may translate to tire wear/problems )
Mclaren is going to finish strong.
I'm thinking this is Hami's season to loose. Not going to happen again.

Most F1 journalists rank Button as the best rain driver on the current F1 grid.

    If it rains:

    1. Barrichello (he's on a roll after Silverstone)
    2. Webber (finally making that front row qualifying stick)
    3. Sutil (he's building momentum from his Monaco race which was also a wet race)

    If doesn't rain:

    1. Massa (he's a qualifying animal)
    2. Massa's #2 a.k.a. Kimi (still learning his way around the Ferrari team)
    3. Alonso (he's that good even in a crap car)

In other words: I have no idea! (and I'm not drinking any margaritas :)

Why is it you insist on making personal comments? We can disagree about the subject, which we do, but your injection of personal put downs reduces your credibility. To zero. I try to be lighthearted in my response, yet you act like a wanker.

Ted and I have a private agreement that for purely entertainment reasons on this forum, we will use and abuse. I question Ted's thinking you are insightful after your response to Jim. But then I question Ted's thinking about everything, but that has nothing to do with respect. Insightful doesn't mean a comment like "talking of pointless...."

It is easy to get carried away at times with another's comments trashing something we believe in, I have been very guilty of that, but one has to conscioulsy refrain from getting personal. You probably have some interesting viewpoints, but they are all hidden by your slams.

Try just attacking the message, not the messenger. Just my opinion.

    Margaritas for everybody, I'm buying!!!!!!!!!

Ron and I may joust with each other on this site but I know that Ron has nothing but respect for me and my opinions (well, maybe not my opinions :D). I consider him a friend on and off this site, he even said something about paying for the steaks when I come down to Florida... :p

While I am sitting at a light , I have seen people ranting , raving and argueing with a lamp post. I have learned to ignore such people. That is why we have the Ignore button in our Forumn. Some people just have issues, and they can't seperate fantasy from reality. Just let them go on their way maybe they will eventually find themselves with proper care and understanding.

You ignorant slut, I do not eat red meat, and I never said anything about buying! Except for the margarita. You are correct about only one thing, the respect. Your opinions are definetely induced by gas fumes.

Just what is light-hearted, in your responses to me!!, I cant think of one single post ever!!!

I said I would draw a line under are disagreement's, but then you slammed me when I questioned Massa's driving ability in the rain.

Then, what I'am I to derive from.. ??? in response to Ted's post (Thank you Ted ditto), other than you question what I had written and think my post's are BS.

Correct me, but It's hard to convey in the written word "jest", if there is no hint of it.

IIRC, your last two Reponses to me have been "YES" and "???", how can I attack that message without not reading more than just a personal affront to me.

My response to Jim, as in being pointless, is what it is, as I feel no matter what I say, it appears a fruitless exercise to convince the reader otherwise, as his/her mind is made up.

I'm not the one calling folk a wanker, which I DO take offence to.
I hasten to add ,I have no personal beef with you, I don't know you, but I'am sure I would get along just fine drinking a Margarita with you....if your buying...;)
