This month's Keith Martin Sports Car Market reports an off colored 2.4 liter Fiat Dino Spider went for $143,000 with buyer's premium at Bonhams. M

Fiat and Ferrari Dino Spiders are obviously very different cars, this was Fiat version for near Ferrari money. Great sale, I think the buyer will be searching long and hard before he's able to get his money back out when it comes time to flip this one. Wonder if he wasn't aware that he was bidding on the Fiat version? ;)

2.4 Fiat Dino Spyders are great cars. There weren't many made and they are very pretty. They're great drivers and have plenty of luggage space. We have one in Europe that I love. Perfect ones are very strongly priced and rising.

    This is a friends.

I've heard they are more in the $35k range, this is surprising: must be something special, low mileage or ??

There's a big difference between the 2.0 and the 2.4 in quality and rarity. The ones in the US often need a lot of work. The market in Europe is very strong for these cars.

The Spyder is a lovely car. I always thought the Bertone 2+2 coupes were pretty nice, too. Even rarer than the Spyders, I'm pretty sure.

Thanks: Very nice link, I'll keep that in my favorites. Looking at these prices and quality, I see now whey they pushing the 'lesser' F-Dino experience.

I've always like the Fiat Dino various models as a way to experience the Ferrari/Dino alternative: with the Euro going north...guess it'll be awhlle.

I believe there are about 225 of these true 2.4spiders left, of course built by Ferrari in his factory.

I wasn't aware of this, is this correct? I was under the assumption that all Fiat Dinos were built at either Fiat or the coachbuilder's factory?

All the 2.4 Fiat Dinos were assembled at Ferrari, if you can find the book, Ferrari By Another Name by Mike Morris, it's the complete story on these cars. And yes the motors are identical other than some castings for the difference of mid engine to front engine.

Thanks Napolis for listing my website as the reference :)

Now of course...I see nothing wrong with the 2.0's :) even if they were built by FIAT, the motor is still AWESOME !
