I couldn't figure out what channel it was on last week and I missed the race.. What time is the race on and on what channel this coming Sunday? Central time if you don't mind
One more race of Fox then back to Speed. 12pm central. BTW Speed usually replays the race on Wednesdays at 11:00 am central.
They even manage to take the fun out of Hobbs and Matchett by making them talk to the audience like they're retarded NASCAR fans.
part of the broadcast is to 'educate' joe public about F1, in the odd instance that the layperson unfamiliar with the sport may be watching. it does seem a bit lame, but that 1% that is tuning in is prob new to F1... and maybe it makes a difference to broaden the appeal, maybe it doesn't...
Thank god it's coming back to Speed.. And thanks for the tip about them replaying it on Wednesday, I'll just catch it then
I can't stand the SPEED broadcast. especially when they display the big driver's head at the bottom of the screen, not sure if they still do it this year. However, being in Europe most of the time, I guess I am lucky that I have the choice of PolSat (Poland) and ITV. Usually, PolSat runs the race from warm-up lap to after podium commercial free, and ITV, well, it's ITV, no need to say more about it. Simply the best one I think... just my 2cents
Actually, i enjoy the speed commentator's. They all know each other, they aren't afraid to say something rude (to a certain degree, and usually true.), but i think they are funny and enjoyable. But most importantly, steve matchett has a wealth of technical knowledge as well as david hobbs who can be hilarious at times.
I am a NASCAR fan, I think it becomes self labeling when one insults the viewer of a different form of motor sport.
Can't say I'll miss the FOX telecasts either. I'll pay it forward with the link: http://www.coresworld.net/F1/
Did I hear this correctly, there will be a pre-race show on SpeedTV Sunday at 12:30 Eastern, and then the race on FOX at 1PM?? The pre-race show is one thing that has been missing.
The Fox telecast admttedly lacks quality for the hard core enthusiats, such as ourselves. But on the bright side, Fox has felt that there is enough American interest to stepup and pay the piper to telecast these races. It's an indication that F1 is having a small resurgence in the states and Fox is hoping that the upward trend continues. Thus the reason for some of the elementary coverage at times. If we can get a strong American F1 driver representative, it very well could take off in popularity. Fox has given up some valuable air time and taken a chance on F1, and for that, we should be appreciative. Just my two Lincoln heads.
when will you guys learn to just download the races. better broadcasts, no commercials, and you can watch the race on your own schedule
I'm a NASCAR fan too Ron, and I generally watch with the sound off to avoid inane chatter. That wasn't so much a knock on NASCAR fans as the way they (we?) get treated by the broadcasters.
At least on Speed you get the pre-race show followed by the complete podium ceremony and interview of the podium finishers. On Fox they cut out most of the podium stuff, only show the preliminary interview with the winner and that's it. They cut out all that so they can rush to air some old episode of According to Jim (on the local station at least). Then, the icing on the cake is that when they replay it on Speed, it's the exact same thing. At least last year when they replayed the race on Speed, we got to see the pre-race show and the complete post-race events. Not any more.
