Anyone notice that this one is now for sale at Forza Motorsports? Jeff http://www.forzamotorsports.com/photos2.htm
Were all the imported (or built) 365's manual trans cars? That is all I have ever seen pics of. I like the nose on the 365's better than the 400's personally too... To bad they are quite old and there are so few of them here. James
All manual; don't know if there were any prototypes done with automatics. Dave says only 31 were every brought in to the US. Jeff
i believe there were three automatic prototype 365GT4 2+2's. the one in question however, is a 5 speed...and it is sold. : )
That sale went fast; I didn't notice it being on the website yesterday. Are you the happy person? Jeff
yes...and happy is the right word. i am really looking forward to this project. it will get the full treatment, and i can't wait to get started. brett, www.granturismo.ca
From the photos it looks like you have a good starting point but it will be an undertaking to get it finished. Jeff
amongst all of his wonderful qualities, prompt website updater does not appear... : ) i transferred the funds an hour after i saw it, which was about 5 minutes after i saw your first post in this thread, so i owe you a belated thank you. i had been speaking to Peter 5 minutes before that, believe it or not (he'd confirm), during which time i asked him if he had anything interesting. he said no...only to hear from me 5 minutes later, at which point i asked " what the **** ? "...he'll also confirm this... : ) i will give the heads whatever they need, rebuild the carbs and distributors, ceramic coat the headers, re-wrinkle everything, etc, etc, etc. i am thinking Blu Ferrari (20 A 185) for the exterior. it was a Factory offered midnight-type blue for the model. it is very similar, if not actually, the colour of the featured 365gt4 in Bleumel's Original V-12. i am hoping to redye the alcantara dash and tunnel, if not the original blue-grey, then a dark brown. a deep blue over chocolate. any thoughts ?
My opinion which may be worth less than zero since it is your car (or soon to be upon physical possession) is to always revert to original. Jeff
since i have the choice, i'll choose something other than a brown Ferrari. i understand the logic behind it (sort of) but on the otherhand there are hundreds, if not thousands, of big dollar Ferraris that are not their original colour, many of which i just saw at the FCA nationals up here. i always find it strange that people would rather live with someone else's choice rather than change to a colour that they really like. i do think the range of colour should be limited to Factory offered colours, but beyond that, paint away... if the original paint was good then ok, but it will no longer be original no matter what i do... regardless...know what i mean ?
