Danica, Duno spar on pit road By MIKE HARRIS, AP Auto Racing Writer Jul 19, 7:13 pm EDT Buzz Up PrintLEXINGTON, Ohio (AP) If Saturday is any indication, the Honda Indy 200 may be just more of the same struggles that Danica Patrick has faced so many times in the past three months. Patrick, who started a career-best second here a year ago, was 11th in the morning practice at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. After getting out of her car, Patrick quickly walked to where Milka Duno, the only other woman racing here this weekend, was pitted and confronted the less experienced driver about getting in her way several times during the practice. The confrontation lasted only about a minute, but witnesses said it grew heated and that Duno flung a towel in Patricks direction at one point as the two exchanged words. Patrick eventually walked away. Patrick, who has previously confronted fellow drivers Dan Wheldon and Ryan Briscoe after racing incidents, brushed off the latest dustup, saying, I just wanted to know if she saw me out there. Duno was not immediately available for comment. Things didnt get better for Patrick after the confrontation. She failed to get past the first of three rounds in the knockout-style time trials and will start 20th on the 26-car grid in Sundays race. Duno qualified last. The car was pretty fast during practice this morning, but I was unable to find the speed that I needed during qualifying, Patrick said. Im disappointed that I didnt qualify better, knowing that I started on the front row last year. But there are some areas of the course where I will be able to make some passes. Its a long race, so, hopefully, I can work my way up the field.
She really is proving that she is either a spoiled brat, or just has no class. maybe a little of both. between her constant pitlane shenanigans and being routinely outdriven by all three of her teammates, she needs to start formulating a post-driving career path.

Haha. I liked the "It's not my fault that you're slow" comment. Danica is a whiner, but I respect her point about Milka. She is much slower than the rest of the field and is an obstacle. She needs to step on it or get out of the car.
Reading the description on MSN, it sounded like Danica was in a profanity-laced rage against Milka. But she seemed really calm and candid. Milka Duno sucks, plain and simple. For all the heat that Danica catches for deserving her seat, Duno has some tall cash behind her feeble effort.
+1 To be honest, I really can't blame Danica here. IMO, the way Duno reacted to what Danica was saying was worse than what Danica did.
Tall cash courtesy Hugo Chavez and his oil money (Citgo is owned by the Venezuelan govt). With all the people up in arms over the ethanol sponsorship and what ethanol production has done for corn prices, why hasn't anyone complained about a car indirectly sponsored by an anti-US regime? Danica did have a right to be upset, and (for Danica) handled it with some maturity, but that doesn't put her in the clear IMO.
Danica didn't do anything wrong, Duno was flipping out for no reason. Danica is right, Mika is in over her head. Someone needs to get her out of that car, she really has no clue.
You are spot on - on both accounts. The episode with Ganassi, Penske now this, what next? On the video clip on the Idiot Racing site, it sure looks like she gives the finger to the Citgo guys as she leaves - very professional, huh? As a team owner, I think I'd have my drivers behaving better than that - or on the flip side maybe her team thrives on this kind of stuff. From our viewing area above the crowd in the esses Friday and Saturday, it was no different than the one of the drivers of the Ford GT in ALMS - guess she would have gone over to that lady driver too and made an arse of herself. so who wants them to kiss and make up? I do! I like Danica, good entertainment for a mostly boring series. In racing if someone holds you up, blocks you, doesn't give you racing room or whatever dumb move then you go visit them in person. I do that club racing, asking why someone did that to me or apologizing to others for my own bone head move.
what would she do in nascar short of getting her head handed to her literally and figuatively? she is a mid pack racer since the merge...at best. nascar would not help her result as the series is SUPER competitive!!!
I would love to see her pull some of this crap in NASCAR on someone like Tony Stewart or one of the Busches. She'll get popped in the mouth. And she deserves it.

How about bikini jello wrestling? The problem is that they have made the sport look silly. Read the last page in SPorts Illustrated. "Cool" is dead--everybody is about public displays of chest bumping. They need to do something else.
