Reposted from "Connecticut meet" thread in NE Section For those not aware, next Saturday (26th) is the FCA meet in Limerock. It is one of those few days where you can meet up with a vast cross section of Ferraristi, see some absolutely amazing cars, and NOT feel like a concours tourist. It's one of the "must do" events on my calendar every year. I suggest we round up the local contingent and make a day of it. Here's some info http://www.empirestateregion.com/clubevents.htm
The event runs Friday and Saturday next weekend. I'll be there. Friday, FCA will be sharing track time with the Lime Rock Club, in one hour blocks. Saturday, FCA has the track all to itself from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The LR Club then has it the rest of the afternoon. So if you are planning on getting up there to see FCA running on Saturday, be sure to get there early.
If you want to drive over and watch the show is there a charge or can you just drive into the infield.
Hope someone will answer that definitively but the last couple club events I hit there was no admission - just drive in and watch. Not sure if things have changed though w.CLR. I'll be heading up early Sat morning from White Plains area - anyone coming by this way and wants to caravan let me know.
Coming as a spectator isn't an issue. All you have to do is sign a waiver as you enter and you can park down in the paddock since there is usually plenty of space. I'll be there.
It is a private event, but there is no charge to get in, and AFAIK, they don't stop anyone from coming in. They may not let you drive down and park in the infield, so you might have to park up top and walk down. Most of the events I've been to there visitors can park in the infield as long as you're not taking spots from participants. I'm a long time member of FCA and have been to many events with them. The only place that they limit access is up at Watkings Glen. But that's a requirement of the track, not the club. W.G. doesn't seem to want lots of people wandering around.
I'll be there Looking for an 0:56 if I can get some clear track although I havent been on the new track layout
Thanks I'll take a ride over with the 308 and hopefully they'll let me drive down to the paddock. I only live about 30 min. away so it will be a nice Saturday drive anyway.
Is Saturday really only until 1am...that's lame. I'll hopefully be trying out some new Ohlins suspension this weekend.
What I heard from Bob Coates is that we are running the "old" track layout, i.e., the old uphill, not the new chicane uphill. I'm not sure if that also means that we will be doing the old West Bend or the new West Bend chicane (which is NOT fun -- very awkward turns and kills any chance of getting any speed on the downhill. From what he said it sounded like we are doing the entire old layout. Guess we'll find out Friday morning. And yeah, we are only running 9 to 1 on Saturday. But it's all OUR time, no Lime Rock club people. So hopefully we'll be able to get some good run time in if they can keep the groups moving.
gotcha, thanks...I was kinda hopin you guys would run the new uphill. Pics would come out really good going up that. Loved it for ALMS...but hey...any ferrari on the track is good with me.
Outboard shots at that corner were always good...there appears to have been some mods to the burm. It might be even better, of course you have to leave the park to get there.

Had no issues whatsoever getting in. Just tell the guy at the front your there for the Ferrari track event and sign the waiver and be on your way!
